Yes NG2 is definitely very nice in terms of gameplay and graphics. The gameplay has really evolved and I mean it, the moves and ninpos are really better and the pace is also much better than orignal NG but the camera angle is the only issue that holds it down.
If any one will review the game he will definitely say that "the game could have been much better". Also even though the gameplay is down to half due to issues its still much better than its competitor DMC4 and Assassins...

Actually PS3 games also use compressed texture and in Uncharted Naughty dog compressed textures much more than in any other game and from the Cell processor they decompressed them and feeded to Cahce of

If you see with technical eye definitely MGS4, Uncharted look better because of texture compression also its a good thing and MS where not using this technology before cause most of their games where being developed much earlier than that of PS3. BUt now this...
But it has sacrificed graphics for multiplayer. They had done some changes in engine to do multiplayer and support 60 players and to stream data better over PSn they had to sacrifice graphics.
Gears could also have done that may be they could have got to 24 players by sacrificing graphics in multiplayer but they wanted visual fidelity all the time. Also both are good games. But graphically no mater what any one says R2looks good damn but Gears 2 still looks better.
the games you mentioned Uncharted and MGS4 are definitely better looking but by a small margin and they along with Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 have graphical edge but there will be equal quality visuals in 360 soon and I would not be surprised to see that a 360 game or multiplatform game beats Killzone 2 visually after 6 months after its release.

Anyways the graphics are good but its unfinished especially animation and textures at few places. Textures are really not the issue its animation. Which takes the game to uncanny valley since it looks good and the animation does not suits it a bit.

@thereaperson you are right abt PS3 internet utility. BUt man PS3 not getting pirated is thanks to Cell and instead all Playstations till now have been pirated like hell. Looks at PS2 and PSP you dont even need A DISK games can be load on HDD.

The screens look good Rare has completly removed the plastic sheen effect in this game. What is good abt graphics of Rare is that they have near abt zero alaising, and polished nicely so every thing looks equally great. so overall it look better than sum of its part.

You have to go with controllers on 360, even arcade games of 360's are designed for controllers. Gt is hard on joystick you definitely need the steering.
