I actually think this is Microsoft and Nintendo's crutch. They rely too much on their stable franchises. So much so, that they fail to take a risk on any new IP year after year. After you've played the new Halo, Mario or Zelda, you're not left with much outside of third party games. Games that Sony has as well.
Thanks. The trailer looks really cool, but like everyone else, I'm excited to see actual game play. I'll have to keep an eye on this one.
It's based on the comic book called Fables, which is also what the television show Once Upon a Time was initially based on. Basically, it's where characters like Snow White and Red Riding Hood exist in real life, but hide among regular citizens in New York. It your job to make sure they stay hidden.
Bad link.
This is my most anticipated game for the new gen. It can't get here soon enough.
X1 can barely do 1080p at 60fps. How in the world would you expect it to do 4k?
@darth
People were up to the idea when Kinect initially released. Myself among them. A lot of us bought one. Problem is, it was a waste of my money. I might have gotten a good 20 hrs of play out of it. I bought Kinect sports, Kinect Adventures, Child of Eden and Disneyland. I even tried the commands in Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim. It was all repetitive and cumbersome, and that's when it worked.
The reason a lot of people are complaining about it, is because...
Regardless of who developed it, it runs on the same engine.
It's in the opening paragraph.
Sad part is, Steve Ballmer said this is the one game that defines the Xbox One experience.
Exactly. And, if no one had pointed it out, we'd be none the wiser.
"The game looks nothing like the footage we have been shown in the B-roll."
Pretty incriminating if you ask me. And, before you go all high and mighty on how IGN sucks, remember they have been gushing over how awesome Titanfall is.
"Moving up the hill to the keep, lead designer Mike Laidlaw points out the implementation of the ANT animation system borrowed from the EA Sports label and DICE. As the Inquisitor moves up the hill you see him lean into it, and trudging through the mud near the shore his movement is visibly hindered."
- This sounds cool. And, we get to pick our race and class again. Qunari!!!!
I agree with you to an extent, but being under the umbrella of a larger company also means you are subjected to oversight. Especially the way MS manages the rest of their divisions. That's why we see the cheaper components for max profitability.
I think a separate entity would bring forth more risk and innovation to make itself more appealing. Eg.,Nintendo
Sony has pushed a strong presence with Gamestop this go around.
Don't really have to try. It was served to them on a platter.
All very true, however, Major Nelson shouldn't have promised real Xbone footage. I think it's more of a PR mixup than anything else. I mean, really, if the didn't have it at Gamescom, how could they possibly have it at PAX? Literally just days apart from each other.
Exactly. Between my TV, BluRay player and DirectTV I have VuDu, Netflix, Crackle, OnDemand, HBOgo, Pandora, Hulu and on and on. Why would I use either console for that?
You realize by saying this, you are also dissing the XBone as well, right. Their GPU is even weaker, so...
Looks awesome, but it would take a small fortune to replicate that build.
