Onlive's 720p is not "true 720p" (as in HD) because the images you see went through compression (they have to in order to be streamed over internet). This is the same as Youtube game play videos never look as good as real the game even though you can view them in 720p or 1080p.

This is one of the most popular YouTube videos right now

Single player is not the best. No move&shoot and you have a zombie for a partner, literally from the lvl of AI prospective. Otherwise, ok game

so..... what kind of system did they use to test this speed?

I really hate it when people starts hating a new technology without trying it first, some even go as far as spreading lies about it.
Fact 1: Sony's 3D TV are priced at $2100 for 40" and $5000 for 60"

I'm guessing at least 10% HARDCORE PC gamers are using NVIDIA's 3D tech

It's a trap! 1st year free and 2nd year for $5 per month may sounds like a great deal, but keep in mind you have to buy games and keep subscribing to play them, so on the 3rd year, they may raise the subscription fee to whatever they want and users will HAVE TO keep paying, or else their previous purchases will be wastes.

actual current gameplay videos are hard to find, but here is some from E3:

combat is MUCH faster than alpha test, but still feels slow, but I'm ok with the mechanic, they just need to make that yellow or blue bar fill up faster.
The game does look gorgeous though. If anyone can convince people to buy a game only for its graphics, it's Square Enix.

author decides to show a demo video which ends right before the good stuff were shown. The second part of the presentation showed so much more chaos and mayhem that is simply amazing.

The article is not very informative at all, they should provide some details on their testing methodology.

agree @ Nitrowolf2
The article is very deceptive by making the assumptions that if a family of 4 buy a console, all family members will be playing at the same sime, and they will only play motion-control games.

This is a "fanboy article" when the author implied PSN is not reliable "With Xbox LIVE you actually get what you pay for, a service that works"

what Nintendo showed is not "3D", it's "Virtual Reality". 3D means perception of depth.

character creation UI looks very clean and nice.
I like it.

What are you talking about? Blizzard has released zero info about their new MMO, so it can't possibly "look" awesome.

I think you got that backward.
Best performance per money spent will have to go to the GTX 470, if you don't mind your graphics card running a little hot that is. AMD's HD 5970 currently holds the crown of highest performance single-slot video card.

Right now 3D on PC requires a NVIDIA card and a 120Hz monitor, and I think only one brand of laptops supports it, but to implement 3D, there is very little work involved in the software side, all they need to do is to tweak the UI a little to make sure it looks correct under 3D view, all the rest are handled in the video card.

but the viewer also must remain at a set distance from the screen, I can imagine people with long or short arms might now be very comfortable holding the device at the exact right distance.
Samsung's holographic display sounds more promising.

agree
I enjoyed the game a lot, especially its fast-paced combat (contributed by removing towns and some other traditional RPG elements)
I think only Final Fantasy or JRPG "purist" don't like this game because it changed so much.

agree, they did this to prevent piracy in China and IP right violations in Korea, in the end, it's all about money.
I have no problem with it though, since pretty much everyone here in North America and Europe has stable internet connection.
