Ok I've got to say I like what Live has to offer that psn doesnt.
Voice chat with 1-7? other people, profile related touches and voice messages. BUT having to pay 60$ a year for that and to play games where 98% of them are P2p... is ROBBERY.
While XBL is still leaps ahead as a social interface, PSN IS FREE and many games have dedicated servers. exept that there isnt much difference though...

# 1, the ps4 will support Blu-ray and use blu-ray as its native platform, sure download will be stepped up.
Blu -ray as far as I know is avalable from 25-400 GB discks compatible with ALL existing players today.
Ps3 reads at 78MB/s, 50 GB will still cut it for most games but there will be LARGER ones for sure and the read will be wastly improved. Blu-ray wont retire for a long while.

Reay tracing isnt that good.
Sure it looks good, but it costs more than it tastes.
You can get almost as good lighting and using way less calculation power.
For ps4 I expect it to be no fucking Jaggies, tesselation and more interactive games. I mean almost lifelike physics like truly deforming mud, dust particles, 3d vegetation, say bye to them flat leafes...
Rich smooth visuals realistic physics in everything and better sound, yup thats it....
Ps2 was my fav, but I wish I could experience the Dreamcast.
Xbox was a solid 2 to me.
It had Unreal Championship, Unreal 2, Doom 3, Oddworld Strangers wrath, Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Alien Homonid and massive support for shooters in general.
Also I liked its music playback feature. What I hated was the DVD compatibility (NEED A REMOTE HURRRDURR... <_<) and the controller was a bit blocky and didnt have the RB and LB like 360.
Now tell me where the money went.
it is not 2007 so I think Sony have managed to make a profitt on ps3 by now, and if not they are still selling ps2s as shit wich I know foer sure made them all the profitt they wanted.

Well I understand your concern about storage, but If you get 1 or even 2 Terrabytes of storage it is not a problem for most people. say each game take 12.8 gigs on average it would mean you could fit 70 + games per Terrabyte (exact 78.)
I prefer physical as you, but download isnt as bad as many people think.
You can have a backup or atleast they use to give some backup method like psn, download up to 5 times or a code almost like the key codes that follows with ret...
