I would get a Wii U for the HD Wind Waker release, but literally nothing else looks appealing to me personally.
Right now at this moment, there is no reason to waste money on the Wii U. I guarantee it will get a price drop this coming Holiday, plus that's around the time the bigger games start releasing for it.
My advice, wait until the Holidays when the price drops, and there are actual games to get with it.

@Swadian, just stop. I play Battlefield 3 on PC and I actually have a good number of friends that while I can usually score 1st through 5th place on my team using a kb/m, they often do much better than me (kd/r wise) using a controller.
An average guy with a machine gun won't hit a target as often as an experienced shooter using a bolt action rifle.

@Kanzes, except that when they first showed Deep Down on Feb. 20, the guy said that the engine was built ground up for the PlayStation 4.
I'm not saying it will be exclusive, but it has some evidence to suggest it will.

Yes, Nintendo were incredibly arrogant with the Wii U. They did the exact same thing Sony did with the PS2/3 transition. They dominated sales with their prior console, then figured it would carry over with their later console without making any effort.
Nintendo in the end gets humbled, and believe me, it will be great for them.

I wouldn't necessarily call it better, as that would be unfair since it will end up being a matter of opinion for most people... But consider that the Xbox One Controller isn't really that different from the Xbox 360 Controller. Yes, it's got a slightly better D-Pad and trigger rumble, but not much else is improved (not saying that it needed improved).

@Foliage, uh, that's actually the opposite of how it works. Developers start with the higher end technology because it is much easier to scale things down than it is to scale them up.
Well I had figured that an important character would likely die somewhere near the end (Knowing Ellie doesn't die kind of narrows that idea down), and there isn't anything wrong with reading articles related to the game, especially when the title of the article doesn't warn of spoilers.
