At least some of the DBZ games have been decent. Hard to say that for the other POS anime games out there.
Dragon Ball Z is the first Shonen type anime most people have seen. So it's gonna resonate with them. The ones out now, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece follow the exact same formula.

GTAIV is Take 2's Final Fantasy.
Everything, including their future, is riding on this game. So the fact that reviews may have been influenced is no big deal. Even if eventually down the road we find out that this was true. It wouldn't matter if Take 2 survives the EA situation. They need to survive this, whatever the cost.

Whichever FF game you played first is definitely going to stand out in your mind. VII was my first one, but other's before it have definitely been BETTER than it.
But I can see where people who played older FF games would be disappointed in VII. You probably could see a lot of the plot twists coming. Honestly, why were people so shocked that Aerith got killed?

Final Fantasy VII is a great game, but when you defend it like THAT, you are insulting the fanbase of the series, hopefully that is "rememberable" enough for you.
MGS4 is putting the fear into some journalists. Not saying it's gonna be the greatest game ever made, but game journalists are looking at this going "We might have been wrong..." Prepare for a lot of backpedaling in reviews regarding the PS3 once the MGS4 reviews hit.
