Have you been missing the articles where Nomura or someone at Square has blatantly said the following:
1) 1st game is based solely in Midgar as its a location that has so much character they wanted to expand the game in that locale.
2) The following games will follow the original game much closer.

Yeah pass on that one. I'd rather Square concentrate on VIIR. If they want to port it, pay some other goosey business to do it.

LA Noire's popularity begs to differ
A major con of most of these games is repetitive quest structure. Especially the original 4 games with either a chase mission, a tailing mission etc.
I was never a fan of the Desmond mission stuff. That was dull as well. The pro of these games is immersion in the place and time and in the later games the combat mechanics.
I think they do it because they need some cash flow otherwise they won't be able to "finish" it.
Ya 3 was a let down back in the day. It had some great things going for it but it lacked "it" if that makes sense.

Both of those titles are already HD though. Doesnt make sense to be one of those.
Even with this new game out, Streets of Rage 3 has the worst music out of the whole series.
I can see a use for having companies on board that specialise in one aspect of development e.g. specialise in Switch ports, specialise in audio engineering, a specific engine etc.
Sometimes in development its more cost effective to palm off stuff to people who have more experience in a particular field.

There's not much between Midgar and Junon. I reckon at least it will last til at least the Temple of the Ancients. If not that far, then Nibelheim.
I hate it when games release in summer. That being said these are winter for me lol.
Because I've commented before about why this game couldn't be released in just one single release before in several other articles. Not to mention judging by his comment from my experience as a developer I can tell he doesn't know what he's talking about.
