This trilogy is more of a low effort remaster, poorly ported and badly optimsed mess than a bugfest.

Also its worth mentioning that working on and finding an exploit in console hardware has been done by legit devs in the past.
Like EA with the Sega Megadrive or Naughty Dog with the original Playstation. Andy Gavin has a great blog detailing how for Crash Bandicoot they hacked the hardware to utilise more memory.
