I agree. As a Playstation gamer, I'm just not going to go out and by a Xbox for Sunset Overdrive or Tomb Raider. These developers just closed the door on any support from me. Also my excitement for Plants vs Zombies has faded so it's a no buy.
I will be enjoying Destiny. Can't wait!
Here is how I see it. You watch someone play a new game on Live from Playstation and it looks pretty good. Then you check your friends list and one of your friends has the game. You can connect with your friend and actually play the game to see if you like it.

Why would you rent a game that your already own? I don't think they are forcing you.

M$ will not make Kinect optional. They need it to attract their target market. The casual crowd. They will use to core gamer to build a solid base and then they will lower the price and go after the casuals. Sounds familiar. Sometimes you just have to look at things for what they are. M$ did not add TV to attract hard core gamers and they will not remove Kinect to please the gamer. Enjoy your system for the next two or 3 years because it will be all about the casuals after that.
M$ is right, they are in this to win. I believe that they will win. Hardcore gamers will loose but M$ will make a ton of money.
You only have to look at last gen to see their motives. Build the install base by putting out some great exclusives, buy some timed exclusives and rely on third party developers. Once the user base was large enough they went after the causal crowd. That's were the big money is.

@xx4xx I Disagree. This feels exactly like ps1 & ps2 days. The ps4 is out selling the competition and with the first party studios poised to release or announce new games, looks like old times.
MS is after the casual crowd. When are you guys going to realize that? They will put out a bunch of exclusives the first couple of years until the price point get down to where the casual crowd starts buying. Kinect is not going anywhere.

No one is stopping M$ from releasing in other countries. They released in the countries that they thought they could excell.
