When you're playing it looks alright but nothing special, but if you go into theater mode and look closely or better yet pause and spin the camera around during an explosion / gunfire it looks incredible!
Everything has dynamic lighting and the covenant are extremely detailed.
I bet that's why they put theater mode in. =P Thy needed some way for people to see it actually looks quite awesome up close.
The disc is from that Xbox bundle that has JSRF and Sega GT 2002 on the same disc, though EB sells it as JSRF since no-one wants Sega GT.
I had the original game when I first got my Xbox though at launch. Loved it so much...I wonder where the developer Smilebit went? They were Sega's Xbox developer, there was GunValkyrie as well from them.
I miss classic Sega. =(
June will be Open World Month. Look at the games being released:
Infamous (PS3)
Prototype (360,PS3)
Bionic Commando (360,PS3)
Red Faction (360,PS3)
And in Australia and Europe:
Star Ocean (360)
Tales of Vesperia (360)
Jet Set Radio Future is definitely one of the best games on the old Xbox. Loved it, wish there was a sequel.
But I noticed the interface froze twice, once for about 5 seconds on the main menu and once for about 10 seconds on the 'join server' screen where u select the filters before searching.
However, because I haven't been online for a while with K2 it installed patch 1.24 and 1.25 at the same time, so maybe that could contribute to the problem?
Because FFXIII is only on PS3 in Japan and the demo is of the Japanese version, very unlikely there'll be a 360 demo until around when it's released outside Japan.
Ah well. Both Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia are about to be released on 360 in Australia, so I'm planning to pick both of them up.
Hopefully there'll be an announcement of Lost Odyssey 2 at E3, I really loved the first, despite it being stuck in very traditional JRPG style.
I hate reading previews of FFXIII.
It reminds me there's still a year to go until we get it! XD
But hey, for all those with a lack of inhibition now you've got 16 more chances to annoy the neigbours, I guess.
With the keyword being 'good'.
It's great getting new IPs and all that but it's also always nice to finish an excellent game and immediately be able to know there's more in store.
E3 should be amazing this year.
There's one major difficulty with Twitter however - because posts are limited to very short bursts, they can't go into detail.
This can leave posts very open to interpretation.
Eg: if a developer working on a game for a 360 says 'and we've just received our PS3 debug kits today' people would instantly assume it meant the game was going multiplatform instead of it possibly referring to another game beginning development.
I was under the impression this article was about an iPhone spin-off of Mass Effect, but all the comments here make me think I missed something in the article about Mass Effect 2 on PS3.
Yes, 360 owners will insist Mass Effect 2 is exclusive to 360.
Yes, PS3 owners will insist Mass Effect 2 is coming to PS3.
How about we discuss the actual point of this article - a top-down shooter for iPhone set in the Mass Effect universe. I think it could be quite goo...
Very Tomb Raider but with more of a focus on combat...
It's only recently the closure of studios has been going public.
Last generation so many just disappeared without a trace. The way you knew about it was when you went to their website to see if they were making a sequel to a game you liked and found a goodbye message to their fans!
Or, in Oddworld Inhabitants case, a 'website being updated soon' message that's lasted there for 3 years it seems.
I never got into GT or Forza 2. Apart from the fact that I'm crap at sim racing games, I don't find them much fun compared to Burnout or NFS.
Realism isn't something I want in games...fun should be the main objective even if realism needs to be compromised to find that fun.
But hey, if any developer can get realism AND fun together good for them!
Against most people's opinion, I thought Deus Ex: Invisible War was an excellent game and really engrossing. In some ways it reminds me of Mass Effect.
Also a shame about Digital Anvil - Brute Force had a lot of potential that could have been expanded upon in sequels, but I guess Gears of War has filled the third-person shooter co-op gap in Microsoft's plans.
I find it kind of funny to see the studio using Acclaim's logo and name and the games they're making. Ponysta...
Mass Effect 1 was an amazing game, with one of the most cohesive and deep universes in a game ever.
The only main issues with the first game were technical or time related: the loading, bad framerate in battles and the emptiness of unknown worlds.
Hopefully now that they've got experience with the tech and time to flesh out the missions and environments without having to spend time working out the engine Mass Effect 2 should be incredible.
It can be good leaving time between sequels - often it will time with the release of a new generation of consoles so the new hardware can be utilized to add new gameplay features.
However, sometimes that can backfire. Leave it too long and many of the original development team may not still be there, and it can be hard to get the original feel and essence of the series back without it seeming like a totally different game wearing the same clothes.
By the time Bioshoc...
"Our breaking story tonight: PS3 site prefers PS3, insists own opinion applies to rest of world.
After the break, we'll be on the scene live as writers on a website dedicated to the Xbox 360 plays Xbox 360 games, causes mass confusion!
Stay tuned later for our current affairs segment as we discuss whether Brain Training on the DS is secretly turning the elderly generation into hyper-intelligent superbeings!"
Are you being sarcastic or are you really insane?
Sure enjoy your console of choice, but saying you wish everyone would leave the 360 is saying you wish a third of the industry would die.
Be grateful you have a choice - competition motivates developers to make better games, and console manufacturers to keep adding new features to increase sales.
Or better yet - get both consoles and realize the dreams and delusions fanboys such as yourself build up about...
Owning both myself, I've found there are some brilliant exclusives on both. I wouldn't go so far as to say one definitely has the best games - for the past 2 years the 360 has had a few more AAA exclusives than PS3, but this year it looks reversed.
All in all, it seems to even out well.
No matter which console you get you're getting an awesome experience, just for slightly different reasons.
There is not 'better' console out of the two, they're very clos...
Bungie doesn't underestimate the creativity of the public - even the first Halo had very customisable multiplayer so people could make game modes more fun than the regular ones.
Then in Halo 3 they added Forge to go a step further.
Then with Theater mode, it's pretty much like "well if you don't like our game, go make your own multiplayer and do some movies or something. No-one's forcing you to play our campaign."
There's a lot of varying opini...
