Honestly I've never really liked any of the Halo games since CE. But I love the shit out of this one. Graphics are better and the gameplay is solid. It's mainly the scale of the levels and the texture detail, but I agree that Reach is leaps and bounds ahead of 3.
I played this game in 3D on PC at quakecon last month, and I've got to say it looks and plays phenominal!

You forget they can add KB+M support very easily.
R2 is 60fps as well. I seem to remember someone from Insomniac saying they're going back to 30fps because they can get more out of the hardware or something like that.

I think the gameplay is better on DQ but the story is better on FF. Well certain ones lol. I didn't care much for the DQ8 story.
