I'm genuinely disappointed that this isn't as scary as advertised. If you play a "survival horror" game and you feel as though you always hold an advantage due to an abundance of weapons, how is that ever perceived as being scary? I still think PT Silent Hills blows this out the water and this will be proven once the game hit stores next year.
I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this game. It will be interesting to see if it tops Forza Horizon 2, but I HIGHLY doubt it will.
Some great topics discussed this week. Definitely planning to watch it live so I chime in sooner on all that's mentioned.
2k frequently updates NBA 2k games with roster updates and therefore I fully expect them to do the same with this game. The season pass concept is fine but the fact that Paige is a part of this and isn't already on the main roster is already a bad sign imo.
I think the real question now is how will fans respond if Square Enix decides to make a lazy PC version of Final Fantasy XV ? Anyone who genuinely loves the series won't skip out on the game just because it doesn't have the perfect resolution and frames per second. Sure we can all agree they are lazy but how many of you will hold your ground and actually stop supporting them?
I'm thoroughly disappointed to hear that the game isn't scary. That alone makes the "evil" come out in me lol
I think pretty much every movie on this list has a video game idea in it. While big budget studios may not actively persue this route, I think fans who grew up watching any one of these movies would definitely be intrigued by the idea of exploring each universe further.
I've never gotten into the Final Fantasy series, but I may try with Final fantasy XV. It's disappointing to hear that the specs are dumbed down on the PC version of Final Fantasy XIII. Square Enix better not do this with XV because if they do, PC gamers will be livid.
I agree with alot that you said and I think the change in writers with every season also contributed to this decline. They need to grow some balls and make things risky again and when I say then I mean kill off someone that no one is expecting to die. Going by the comics, Glen should be the next one to go but I bet you they will instead go in another direction and those other secondary characters introduced will be the ones to die instead.
In addition to everything I mentioned in the article, I would also say I enjoy the characters even more than the ones on the TV show. this is the true advantage to using new characters and I think this formula worked extremely well for Telltale.
I'm very much looking forward to Far Cy 4 and even if it is 900p and 30fps that still won't stop me from buying the game. While Ubisoft handled this matter the wrong way, anyone who says they won't buy Assassin's Creed Unity because of it is fooling themselves. Who pays $400- $500 for a console and doesn't buy games for it? That is absolutely absurd and I guarantee most of the people complaining now will buy the game anyway so they should just keep quiet and enjoy the game...
Just as I said on the podcast, Ubisoft handled this the wrong way and are fully to blame for not getting the game to run at 1080p. Several developers have proven they can achieve 1080p (most recently Shadow of Mordor and Forza Horizon 2 are 1080p) and therefore this is somewhat ridiculous. Of course how the game itself is all that ultimately matters but why even bring up resolution thing up in the first place? lol
Great review, but no way this game is better than L.A. Noire lol
Some pretty awesome games on this list. Black The Fall kinda looks like Limbo, but I'd def try it out.
Destiny was easily the most notable release last quarter. However, the game itself does have some issues and while they aren't enough to make the overall package bad this still is disappointing in terms of what was expected of Bungie. Hopefully the DLC expansions can make things better down the road.
Alot of great titles out this month. Hopefully most of them live up to the full potential they are all capable of.
You made some great picks on this list. I'll definitely support these games with my wallet.
Definitely checking this out as soon as it launches.
Great Preview. I have been hoping that 2K would improve the quality of this game and the franchise as a whole. Glad to hear that they are off to a good start and I look forward to seeing if the final product delivers.
Very insightful interview. It's great too see powerful gaming is in everyone's lives.
