not the least bit surprised by Konami's actions. The company deserves to die for ditching Silent Hills and not giving Kojima free reign to do whatever he wants with his franchise.
Fans of The New Order will definitely enjoy what this game has to offer. The storyline isn't anywhere as compelling as the last game, but the gameplay and new weapons are definitely fun to use.
Fully expected Microsoft to show up at Gamescom. They don't like being number 1 and therefore that will be the driving force behind every action they do this generation.
I think it's only inevitable that E-sports will be on ESPN in the not too distant future. These competitions make a ton of money and it would silly if ESPN didn't want to get a piece of that somehow lol
My interesting timing for them to be working on this considering Rare is also working on a new game. Definitely looking forward to playing both games once they are released.
I agree with pretty much everything said in this impressions piece. Definitely would have loved to see different Jason costumes in the game. The short storyline for Jason could be seen after completing the klassic tower. Aside from all that, i'm definitely digging the fighting variations and fatalities.
Hopefully this Marvel and Telltale partnership can result in multiple games instead of just one. They also should get bonus points if they are able to connect storylines from one game to another.
I used to be into The Sims. Then i heard they made a ton of changes in The Sims 4. Not sure if i'll check it out yet but we will see.
The PS4 will definitely keep up the momentum and i'm very interested so see what Sony will announce at E3.

The Silent Hills cancellation sucks but it is for the best. Konami messed up Castlevania so i'm glad they won't be allowed to mess up this franchise now. I definitely am concerned about the future of the Metal Gear franchise though lol
I can't say for sure if I'll ever play this because there are already too many other games in my backlog. I will however consider it and see if its as challenging as bloodborne is.
This was an extremely well done and thought provoking piece. I'm not quite sure if I will play Hatred but I agree 100% with you on the fact this game was possibly made to counteract those who continue to say all video games are violent. In theory, movies and TV shows are just as violent and therefore I think it is the job of the parents to properly educate their kids and determine what's appropriate for them to watch. They will of course be subjected to things outside of the household...
I passed on the first episode. Now that the full game is out, i'll definitely check it out.
Just as I mentioned on the show, that Witcher 3 PC video being posted on the Xbox YouTube account was a bad look. While they wanted the game looking the best it possibly can be they should have just shown what all xbox one owners will see should they decide to pick up that version of the game. As for the Xbox financials, i'm pretty sure some of those losses were expected but they also need to release more games that people actually want to sell consoles. We will see what happens next but ...
I enjoyed Bloodborne for what it's worth, but I absolutely have no more time to play it now.The Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight will be what takes up most of my time now. However, I will say this Bloodborne is far better that that Lords of Shadow 2 trash that we got awhile back. Everyone in this genre can learn alot from the developers.
Two reasons why Microsoft is behind and might not catch up:
1) Horrible first impressions and miscommunication by internal PR team. I'm pretty sure making all of these changes with the messaging made consumers feel uneasy about the product and Microsoft's ability to stay loyal to their fanbase.
2) Lack of a AAA console selling title. Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2 are both awesome games but they also aren't Halo 5 and we already know if tha...
Definitely will be picking this up soon. Hopefully we get a Shovel Knight 2 in the future too.
For what it's worth, I'd say gameplay should matter most but it also depends on how good people want the game to look as well. Someone who has the latest and greatest in HD TVs may want the best looking game possible to justify their reason for buying that TV in the first place. Again though, how the game plays and performs overall should be the main topic in this discussion because if those areas fall short then no one will care about how it looks anyway.
Good to hear more people are buying Xbox Ones but anyone who thinks they will catch up with the PS4 should just go ahead and cancel that noise now. The Fall lineup will be huge for them, but Halo 5 is not going to all of a sudden give them a massive lead in sales in the US. I guarantee this lol
