@IRetrouk
I'm fine with agreeing to disagree on Jim Ryan. Like I've said many times, I hope he proves me wrong.
@Sayai jin
You and Orchard are just as "worked up" about the sales of a "piece of plastic" as anyone else posting in this article about sales. And "simple logic" suggests current sales applies more to the company that is able to produce quite a bit more units than its competition. Demand is being constrained by supply, but supply is less of a problem for Sony than it is for MS and Nintendo, for whatever reason.
"Series X has way more storage. Over 150gb more. "
And you'll need it as multiple games have shown to be "way more" larger on XSX than PS5.
"The game is included with my $10 per month subscription. You could have 7 months of Game Pass, for the price of the game! Have fun with that."
lol....and what happens if they take that game off of Game Pass in four months? Yeah...have fun with that.
@ApocalypseShadow
If you believe Playstation's current success is due to Jim Ryan then there is nothing to say to you. PS5 is a massive success because it is building off the foundation laid down by PS4. The foundation guys like Andrew House and Shawn Layden built. Are you a Playstation fan or a Jim Ryan fan? What is this bullshit idiotic nonsense that the two are one and the same?
I'm fine with that as well. Pretending to be something I am not would require me to blindly buy into anything and everything someone else says without question. That may be you, but it isn't me.
"according to N4G"
Oh....that guy.
"everyone hates Sony, including people that lean more Sonys way than MS's"
Disagreeing on the direction Sony is taking PS is not hating Sony. Not even a little.
Value is subjective. I haven't played a game the past year that I could have played on Game Pass. My perception of value is just as valid as this writer's and to me the value in Game Pass hasn't been there. So what? I'm sure for many there is, but there are hundreds of millions of gamers in the world that have access to Game Pass and under 20 million have ever even subscribed for a single month.
Seems pretty obvious that the vast majority of gamers who ...
@derek
Jim Ryan is the CEO of SIE. Everything regarding PlayStation is his responsibility.
So somehow being critical of a CEO is a "mindless obsession"? Bullshit, dude. Look....if Jim Ryan proves me wrong then I'll say I was wrong. And believe, I damn sure hope I am wrong about him and PS is in good hands. But right now, I don't believe that. That is not a "mindless obsession" with anything. A "mindless obsession&...
Got it. There is no huge advantage for XSX as VRR is simply not a feature commonly found in TVs. I'll accept your inability to prove your point as confirmation that you made it up.
"So why the hate on VRR?"
I made no negative remarks about VRR at all. More shit you made up.
Done here.
Predictably, you avoided the question completely.
"Are you seriously pretending that every "new TV in the last 2-3 years" has VRR? "
Are you seriously pretending that every "new TV in the last 2-3 years" has VRR? VRR isn't a feature most TV buyers care about or is even available.
Somehow calling out your bullshit that it is a "huge advantage" is pedantic? That's hilarious. It is a minor advantage at best.
There is no "huge advantage" as most TVs do not support VRR at all.
I don't think either of you understand the basis of my concerns, but I'm not rehashing all that. Jim Ryan is in charge of PS and that isn't going to change. I want the best for PlayStation gaming. And if I bitch it is when something I believe isn't best for PlayStation. For people like italiangamer that means I lack brain cells. That's just idiotic, but whatever.
Having said all that, there isn't much point beating this dead horse. I appreciat...
Agree with -Foxtrot. I don't know anyone who said that Jim Ryan's actions would result in PS sales tanking. In fact, just yesterday I said the exact opposite:
"No, Jim Ryan's issues is not anchored to an incompetent console design like Xbox One was. That may be what saves him from himself, frankly, as PS5 continues to be a huge success. Wins hide sins."
"we know PlayStation gamers will just play them on their gaming PCs"
"every Playstation owner also has a high-end PC"
The fact that *some* PS gamers, like myself, have gaming PCs doesn't mean *all* PS gamers have gaming PCs. I've had plenty of PC vs console debates with PS gamers right here on n4g. Clearly, curtain_swoosh is a PS fan and he said nothing about gaming on PC. So what is with this idiotic generalization you two are making...
Here is the bloomberg article translated:
"Several potential buyers have shown interest in Square Enix, CTFN reported, citing two bank officials familiar with the situation.
It is not clear whether the game department is the only one of interest or the company as a whole.
Square Enix's digital entertainment business accounted for 72 percent of total revenue in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2020, according to Bloomberg data.&q...
Well you are not a fan of PlayStation in general, and in fact, have expressed negative sentiment against PS overall, so your opinion is not surprising.
DualSense is one of the advances this gen that feels like a genuine improvement over past generations. There is a noticeable difference already in how it is changing the feel of the game. I expect we will continued improvement as the gen moves forward.
Your rant is just triggered nonsense, especially....
"Also PCMR: Sony is garbage for not allowing crossplay."
Sony has been doing crossplay with PC for since PS3. Hell, when the crossplay with Fortnite controversy was spinning up, PS4 had already several games doing crossplay with PC. Hell, more than any other console. So why would PC gamers call Sony "garbage" for crossplay? Makes no sense.
Props to Jim Ryan for listening to his fanbase. This was the right decision.
