No. Wii had a fad called motion gaming and that's why people fell for it. It was a console aimed for family gaming. Mario fans (who are greater in number than call of duty, and halo fans) also were interested in the wii. Ofc price had a big influence on its sales but it still would have outsold the xbox/ps3 because back then there was no cod.
Actually crysis was really open world. Once you get the mods and cheats running it's as open world as you can get. Even the sp was pretty open in the original crysis.

Issue with 3D is crosstalk, lowering of resolution or even halving it with SBS 3d or passive 3d, the headaches it causes to some people, and worst of all the freaking glasses.

Sony owns most of sony's shares. Also there is no way ms can buy sony. Motorola was worth $6 billion before google bought it for $12.5 billion. You really think MS would be able to buy sony for $12.8 billion??? Um no.

Take economics you idiot. You do know market cap doesn't determine how much it would take for a company to be acquired right? Assets do. Market cap is the value of a company towards shareholders in terms of the profits a company makes. Sony hasn't been making a profit thus it has a low market cap.

You are forgetting a thing about assets liabilities debt etc... M$ has barely a third in cash to buyout Sony as a whole.
Sony is a conglomerate that does far more business than microsoft. Sony has assets that are worth 3-4 times what m$ has in cash.
Also companies have to be bought for far more than what there market cap is. Google bought Motorola mobility for far more than what its market cap was.

I am hoping for the ps4 to do better. Sony just has better 1st party gaming talent than microsoft and as a Gamer I benefit most from that. I couldn't care less about the gimmicks that microsoft is trying to throw at its gamers like smartglass and kinect. As long as sony gives me unparalleled single player experiences I shall support them.
Honestly the specs show that the ps4 should cost sony no more than $400 to make. The gpu and cpu will most likely be an apu that is on a 28nm process.
It would cost sony less than $150 to buy them in bulk.
Then in bulk the motherboard would cost $50, memory would cost $30, the bd drive would cost $30, the hard drive another $30, and the case cables marketing and retail costs etc... another $100.
