I think one of the series' biggest charm (that is often overlooked) is how the series reinvents itself every so often. Every title in the series feels very different from one another. 2, 4 and 5 were all reviewbombed for one reason or another and often called the worst metal gear or even the worst game ever. It's only years after that those games get the appreciation they deserve. 2 and 4 are now hailed as masterpieces. I see more and more love for MGSV lately as well so I'm glad ...
That's true. They always come up with ridiculous terms to define exclusives which is basically twisting the word "exclusivity" as much as they possibly can. I think it was last year that they came up with "Console Launch Exclusive" which basically means : "It's the first console to get it when it launches." What's more, whenever those words came up on their trailers it was accompanied with a voice saying one word : "Exclusive" leading many t...
It's not great for those who only own a PS4 and/or Switch. The only silver lining I see is that Microsoft could pressure Bethesda into actually completing their games instead of shipping untested, buggy crap. I love Elder Scrolls and Fallout but that's just a bad practice no matter how you look at it.
I agree. It's a big win for Microsoft but not so much for everyone else. We'll just have to wait and see but acquisitions rarely go well.
Minecraft is on other consoles because it was already released on those consoles at the time of acquisition. They could have pulled them out but that'd have been a bad move. Imagine buying Minecraft digitally on PS4 and then losing it because Microsoft bought the IP. That just gives them a bad rep. Now, continuing to support and sell the game on their competitor's consoles gives them a good guys rep. Plus, they still make money from it and they didn't have to directly invest money...
If it really has no tech this will not be a return but a first. There's always been technology in Final Fantasy. There were even mechas in FF1.
Honestly, the lack of technology and the fact it looked medieval feels out of place for Final Fantasy. But it does look good so far. Much too early to be sold though.
He's only in as a producer though but I do agree he's great.
I mean if it sells well that means we'll get sequels. If it had bombed that probably wouldn't be the case.
It might also mean a bigger budget for sequels or even the possibility of other Final Fantasy entries receiving a similar treatment.
So yeah, I'm a bit excited that it sells well myself.
Okay?
It doesn't matter if that information isn't going to effect your decision in any way, yes. However, most people are likely using this information to help them choose which one they'll buy.
I'll choose Playstation over Xbox any day but you're wrong. It's a very smart move and more companies should do this. It makes zero sense to buy the same game twice or wait for next gen consoles to buy it.
Spoiler alert: It's a joke.
Couldn't agree more.
It's a tough business to get into. I'm surprised Google didn't plan accordingly. I'm doubly surprised they don't seem to be doing anything to remedy that asap.
Sakurai has your back though. He'll make sure to add 12 new characters from Fire Emblem instead.
They could still get money from it by cutting a deal with Platinum Games whereas keeping it for themselves gives them nothing.
@Stopac you seem to have XIV and XV mixed up.
That works for the parts you're actually walking. What about vehicles? I drove and used ziplines a lot more than I walked or ran in that game.
Some last-gen and current-gen ports don't perform very well on Switch as I understand. It seems like it'll only get worse if they don't try to catch up.
But I agree about first party games. Those will always sell well regardless.
The whole point of outsourcing HD remasters to small studios like Bluepoint is because it's low-cost and it keeps their own teams working on new games. If they bought them out then they'd have to find another studio to outsource their remasters to.
