Nintendo get so many free passes that it defies all reason. If Microsoft or Sony tried half of their crap there would be a never-ending shitstorm. But with Nintendo it's all right. I'm not sure exactly why. Because they made games a lot of people loved when they were young? Because they make family-friendly games therefore they're "good guys" ?
I wonder what would happen if you had like three different colored Halo games all full priced all releasing a...
Clone does have negative connotations to it even if everyone using the term might not realize it. At least to me it sounds like it's unoriginal and/or just trying to ride on another game's popularity. Maybe I'm just old and never realized that it evolved into something positive.
To be honest, I'm much less inclined to play a game described as a clone of another.
The backlash comes from people who believe Sony are recording them. The consoles are. They're not saying they're keeping records of our voice chats. They're saying they're being recorded by the consoles and it can be sent to Sony as part of a user report. Same way you can send videos recorded with your PS4. I don't get what the deal is. I guess if you really don't want to have your voice recorded you could just decide not to use party chat. You could also try not to be...
It does consume more resources to render it in 4K vs 1080 but it doesn't use system resources if it's not rendering. This isn't a big deal at all.
Anyone BUT Larian should have gotten this game. Or no one at all. I'm good with how Throne of Bhaal wrapped things up. Didn't need a sequel at all. Plus it seems to be a sequel in name only. The Baldur's Gate Trilogy was never about the city of Baldur's Gate. You basically spend 5 minutes there in the entire series.
Larian are basically developping Divinity Original Sin 3 and slapping the title "Baldur's Gate 3" on it.
I don't know if I would call the Xbox a behemoth but Microsoft certainly is one. They had huge setbacks with the Xbox One and made really atrociously bad calls at first with the online-only thing. I personally owned an Xbox and a 360 and hated my experience with both. Not to mention my 360 quit on me after a few months of casual use vs my first PS3's 6 years of intense use. Safe to say I don't think I'll ever buy another Xbox ever again. If I get a next-gen console it's a ...
Agreed. Some of the best music in the series for sure.
I would switch MG1 with MGSV for sure. MG1's "codec" was a lot more basic than MGSV's tapes. But I suppose it's still trendy to hate on MGSV. I never had trouble figuring out who was speaking between Ocelot and Kaz either.
IMO PW's tapes were also a lot better than MPO's. Actually, I feel like PW's approach to codec should have been the series standard. Older titles that use the codec basically give you random conversations based from one ...
I don't know. Not saying they don't have exclusives but I haven't been wowed by anything so far unfortunately. I haven't been wowed by anything on Xbox's side either. I'm probably in the minority but neither of them showed me anything I'd be seriously interested in. Just stuff I'd pick up while waiting for the really good games to come out.
TL;DR Twin Snakes is bad.
I'd rather get a remaster or a straight-up port of the original than Twin Snakes. The only things it "improved" on the original were features from MGS2 and they clashed with MGS1's level design. The framerate kept dropping below 30FPS, reinforcement requests were always cut-off mid-sentence by the alert phase whenever you were spotted.
Ridiculous acrobatics and physics aside, Snake is always stiff in cutscene a...
"Considering Kojima’s heavy involvement with the game"
He was barely involved with it. It was co-developed by Silicon Knights and directed by someone else. Kojima was busy working on MGS3 at the time and didn't want to get too involved with side projects so he was only supervising it from afar.
But you do have a point that he's okay with it. As I said, he did supervise it so he had to give the ridiculous cutscenes a greenlight at some p...
Weird. The only meals I get at McDonald's are other people's.
The only thing he can play is probably PS5 OS.
^ I mean is that supposed to be a famous person or something? I legit don't know.
"Spiderman is made from ground up with SSD ray tracing and more.."
You're just throwing terms around without understanding their meaning. You don't make games with "SSD." SSD is just a storage technology. You don't have to adjust your software to run on an SSD xD Imagine if they did that for PC games. Skyrim SSD Edition.
You do have a point that the game has had extra work and care added to it but it was not in any way &quo...
At least Microsoft seems open to keep producing games that come out on other consoles. They even said the PS4 timed exclusivity on two of the games they bought is still on. And they also said some of the games Bethesda makes might come out on other platforms as well. Which is probably going to be the case with Fallout and Elder Scrolls.
As much as I disagree with a lot that Microsoft does, a lot of companies (Sony included) would never do that.
Their main IPs alone are huge cash cows. Unless they make another 76 people will just throw money at the next Elder Scrolls and Fallout. And I'm not sure 76 didn't do relatively well. Hell their games are barely finished when they're released and people still go crazy for them. I played Skyrim again a couple weeks back and it just was as buggy and glitched as I remembered 9 years ago.
Unfortunately, Sony can't compete with Microsoft in the buyout game. That's definitely not what they should focus on. That move to buy Zenimax was not only a good move to acquire IPs but it was also a great PR move. Now everyone is expecting Sony to respond in kind. And they're not in any position to acquire a company of that size. I don't think just buying a studio is the answer for Sony. I'm not sure what the answer is though. Hopefully they still have good cards to play...
Kojima already expressed multiple times his desire to remain independent and multiplatform. I don't see it happening unless the new studio isn't doing so well. We haven't heard a peep from them in a while so I'm guessing the next time we hear about them it's going to be about their next game announcement. Maybe Sony could secure licensing rights to Metal Gear (there have been rumors) and that COULD help convince him. As much as he always claimed to want to do something new...
Agreed. I'd love to see this come true but Xenogears and Parasite Eve aren't popular enough. Xenogears has an intense but small cult following. I'd rather see a new Xenogears but I'd definitely take a well-made remake or hell even a remaster with high definition sprites and environments. If they were to give it the same treatment as FF7 it'd probably take over a decade to make.
Parasite Eve might have more luck at a remake... especially if Square wants t...
