Honestly kind of reminds me of Destiny's gameplay. If they can nail that feel, this will be a solid game.
I know this site is littered with diehard fans of each platform. But as a neutral gamer that plays on every platform.....I admit this would be a very funny scenario.
It's been delayed to 2023 unfortunately :(
I'm a huge fan of Destiny. Day 1 Destiny beta and thousands of hours across both games type of players. I will be the first to tell you that Destiny has always had a content *and* identity problem. In all my years of playing Destiny, I have only recommended it to a handful of friends. I couldn't in good faith recommend that much recycled content for the price that it costs just to keep playing it.
That said, this one raid in particular is beloved by the community an...
Also, consider how much money FromSoftware is leaving on the table by adding difficulty options. If FromSoftware patched every Souls game and added an easy mode, they would make BANK. Gamers that have been put off by the difficulty would buy it up like candy. They know that! But their creative vision for these games is obviously very important to them. Who are we to insist they compromise their vision and cater to people the game was never intended for?
Pathologic 2 did it best. It had an "easier" mode, but it came with a large prompt basically telling you "This game is intended to be played at the hardest difficultly".
Some movies are difficult to figure out. The directors have a vision in mind and they do their best to create that vision. Very rarely do movies add in extra, optional scenes that spell out the meaning and ending of a movie for those that don't "get it". Games are similar i...
@retroman
I generally start on the hardest difficulty and then adjust down if needed. I have a lot of friends that do the same. I am sure plenty of people also start on Easy and work their way up too. But not "everyone" Not even "most". I would wager than roughly 75% of games are played on "Normal" difficulty. Then there are the people turn it up right off the bat, and the people that turn it down.
I once had a dream I was swinging on the tree branches around my neighborhood....honestly kind of like Tarzan. In my dream through would be a very large tree that grows out of the lake about a mile from my house. I was swing from tree to tree around the lake to avoid attacks, and swing onto the tree boss to do damage when I got an opening. The goal would be to cut as many branches as possible off the big tree boss while swinging in the air between branches using a one handed/sword blade. Very...
Has anyone looked up anything that the author, Christopher Ferguson? I'm too tired right now to look it up but this would be a great article to quote in a debate if the study and the author has some credibility.
So happy they are doing a beta this far ahead of launch. Most betas are simply "hey guys, don't forget our new game is coming out soon!". I am holding out hope that this will bring Halo back to form.
I will never understand why people want raids to have Matchmaking. There is a little game called World of Warcraft. it implemented matchmaking for raids and dumbed down the difficult to a point where you would need to be braindead to fail. Guess what? People still manage to fail at it. Matchmaking for raids in Destiny would lead to the same fate....people that do it simply because it is an option when they have no business in the raid. There are sites like destinylfg to help find raids perfec...
I think people just want to know what you can really, actually do. We fly, we explore, we look. What else? Can we mine, shoot, build, dig, talk, make alliances, chase/hide from people and things, put our own stamp on the world, etc.
What tools will we have to make our own experience?
If you're matchmaking is working fine then you are one of the lucky few. Go to any gaming forum, Reddit, whatever. Very few people are talking about how much better things are.
Halo turned me into a gamer. I have played between 30-40,000 matches of MP, beaten every campaign on every difficulty multiple times. So far I love Destiny so much. But.....
I almost agree with you. Especially "I imagine quite a few of the Bungie devs were looking forward to doing something different."
I bet the other 98% at Bungie got all kinds of excited when they heard they were moving on and doing bigger things, just to get their hopes crushed ...
My all time favorite band :D
The image almost looks like Powerhouse from Halo Reach.
I'm not saying CS is the most hardcore game ever, but there are few, if any shooters right now that have good competitive balance and learning curve like CS does. Quake maybe, but the community has dwindled to a fraction of what it used to be. Maybe Arma, but I rather watch paint dry.
That would be nice, and it would kind of make sense considering the scale of the game that the MP would have 16 player matches at least. That said....They could focus on more Arena style MP like the Halo games. Honestly I would prefer an arena/competitive style experience rather than having a focus on bigger player counts, larger maps and vehicles.
IMO, consoles are in dire need of a competitive E-Sports ready shooter. CoD, BF and even Titanfall don't quite cut it in that...
As long as you also agree that a man and woman should not kiss and make out in public too.
Not a looter, but Deep Rock Galactic is great co-op game with a nice progression system and classes that play wildly different but compliment each other perfectly.
