ylod doesn't mean immediate failure. It just means its overheating, so let it cool for a while. Its possible that you didn't let it cool, and took it to the store hastily?

The thing with YLOD followed by the red light flashing 3 times is that it comes a little too late. RROD is saying, hey, there's a system failure. In most YLOD cases, the ps3 is saying hey, your system is overheating, let it cool. But that warning comes too late, and the soldering to the motherboard fails.
In theory, Sony could fix YLOD in a firmware update, ...
except its different from the gameinformer survey. Anyone could've claimed they had a 360 that failed in the gameinformer survey.
In this survey, its much harder for trolls to say that they're 360 failed since they actually have to talk to the person
I'd say GT5 will be the first, i agree though. Sony really needs to include this game in all the ps3 demos at every retail store.

COD4 has been my favorite game this gen to date, and MW2 is looking really promising. All the features that they're adding sounds so cool
But when you look into it, it seems like it might turn into a noob fest(like random nading in COD4[especially with 3x frag, and martyrdom] on shipment)
My biggest problem with this game is that it looks like it takes less skill to play, so the really skilled people only have a very slight edge over the noobs.

Sony doesn't have a proper reason to attack Watchdog.
If ps3 sales were on the decline, they might have a reason, but I can't see Sony winning a case against Watchdog, especially with ps3 sales up thriving in the UK.
i know... I even saw posters on a gamestop window completely covered with ps3... then on the other side, one little poster about odst... i was thinking to myself its a sign of the apocalypse.
