first of all... WHAT?

secondly(assuming i read your post correctly): this article speaks about Japan as an important place for the gaming industry, not for game sales

Every news article about GT5 is surprising me everyday.

I wonder how RUF interiors are going to look like

no one does a vietnam game because the US lost it, and also because during that time, the US soldiers were looked down upon by the US people. But I didn't expect 95% of the people on n4g to know that.

Wait wait... am i missing something... when did COD6 come out?(no, WaW is not COD5, no MW2 is not COD6!!!)

i've noticed a trend with Sony since the psp. They release a surprise with a firmware update.

With psp, it was to clock it significantly higher.
With ps3, it was to introduce 3D

Sony is pushing a lot for 3D channels.

Sony, IMAX, and Discovery are joining together to make a 3D network. ESPN will also be broadcasting in 3D soon.

Remember, its not just Sony pushing 3D, all the other tv manufacturers are too, so there will be a huge demand/influence from tv manufacturers for 3D channels. You can expect there to be many channels the broadcast in 3d by next year.

Besides, i think it was toshiba that announced their cell tv which they...

Sony is on a roll, they've timed all their hardware pricing, and software releases correctly.

I believe Sony is still accelerating, and will floor it in March and maybe summer(depending on when GT5 comes out), and then ride that large forward momentum and get little boosts along the way until E3 2011 when the ps4 is announced for a November 7th 2012 release date

@above... he didn't even have to read the article... just the description

what if i wanted to buy a video from the playstation store, but my tv was old, and i wanted to watch on my pc moniter instead?

what if i only had a psp, and wanted to stream it to my bravia?

and those are only video store uses. connectivity is great for consumer and company. The company convinces consumer to buy more of their stuff and the consumer has an easier time

I did the math in my head and I calculated the 8 trillionth number to be anywhere between 1 and 9 inclusive.

Just FYI, I was a beta tester since the Qore beta phase.

MAG is extremely complicated.

When I first played MAG, I was overwhelmed, but once you get used to the game, its extremely fun. Especially when you get to Squad/Platoon leader status.

My one fear is that this game will get under rated because it takes some getting used to and when this game releases there won't be any squad leaders leading to utter chaos.

I also think that it will be u...

look on the top
also, zoom into "Give me a Visual" and it reveals this:

"GT5 will run in full 1080p HD at a buttery smooth 60fps. Weather effects as well as night racing for all tracks will be making their first appearance."

IMO, onlive might turn out to be the greatest thing in the world, but it will be way to expensive to maintain. The company can't really make competitive pricing right now. Im guessing they'll charge somewhere around $20 a month.

Servers are extremely expensive to maintain, and if onlive has to meet demand with the people and hundreds of games, they're going to have one of the biggest server farms in history.

this article is lame... seems like its trying to get people to hate kojima

Kojima DID say that, but after that he also goes on to say after you have used the hardware, to make a game better on the same platform, you have to optimize your software

Which in essence is the same thing Naughty Dog is saying. ND is saying we maxed it out with unoptimized code, and kojima is saying we maxed it out, now i have to go and optimize the code

i found 3D pretty useless, without being lame 3D, but Avatar had pretty good effects.(the movie)

I just dont know how many devs are going to spend the time and money to develop 3d.

The glitches are kind of getting annoying now. I'd didn't mind the glitches before much, but ever since the javelin glitch, that was kind of the last straw for me. I'm getting pissed off anytime someone's been glitching.

I like MW2, but the glitches are killing the experience for me. Specs Ops was awesome, hope theres some expansions to it in the future

my AWESOME(sarcasm) ISP, Comcast caps at 250gb, and slows down download speeds if you are downloading torrents/downloading too much too fast

I cant even play a game of modern warfare 2 with a torrent download running because of these idiotic rules in America.

Maybe for Japan, digital distribution is possible with their extreme speeds, but not here in America... atleast not for a few years

Same for me. Smooth just like closed beta.

The problem isn't that their servers are unstable. They made their servers amazing during the closed beta, its just a matter of adding a few more to meet demand

If you can't find a game that suits you with a game library of over 2000, then thats difficult.

You can easily make up many reasons to console yourself, but you missed out on A LOT of experiences last gen.
multiconsole owners ftw!

Of course, Sony took stuff from Microsoft, just like Microsoft took stuff from Sony.

Did the ps3 have ingame xmb at launch? no.
Did the 360 have HDMI at launch? no.
of course, you fanboys could spin it and say both were inevitable, but you can sure bet the competitors influenced each other.

Competition = Happy Consumer
doesn't matter what kind of console you own. Competition brings out the best in the business.
