So lame, a tech demo was conducted to test new technology. This is nothing new; they've been doing this since the 1980s. There have been thousands of tech demos that led to nothing. That said, AI is here to stay, and it will eventually find its way into games in one form or another. It's time to stop the overly dramatic reactions and accept reality.
I agree with everything you said, except for the claim that it was the best game of the year when it came out. Aloy, in my opinion, is a poorly written and frustrating character. At times, she comes across as rude, spiteful, and overly self-centered, which makes her difficult to connect with. Her characterization detracts from what otherwise could have been an excellent game. They should change her name from Aloy to Anoy.
This is what I am waiting for!
Dumbest thing I have ever read 🙄
It was an awesome idea but even with tools that were supposed to make it easier to make a game, it was still so hard and convoluted. It tried to do to much at once. It would have been better to separate everything into easier parts, build the world, then the character's, then the music, etc. Not everything all at once. Some people understood it but most were overwelmed or confused.
PlayStation has the capability to enable original PS3 emulation, but they seem unwilling to invest the necessary time, money, and resources. However, they could consider offering emulation as a premium feature, perhaps bundled with online services and free games. It's worth noting that the original PS3 was backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games, and the PS5 supports PS4 games. Therefore, with just two consoles, you can play almost every PlayStation game, excluding handheld titles.
AI can make fake world's come to life, because characters will literary understand the world they live in. They can be enemies, friends, allies, partners, love interests, and more all while talking and acting like a real entity, they would truly understand the world around them and your interactions and conversations. They could tell you about people or places in the world like they actually know them. The world can evolve with time and be played forever with new quests created on the spo...
Very nice, I always enjoy a good Christmas card... even if most say Happy Holidays
What really needs to stop is people thinking a score of 7 somehow makes a game bad, there are tons of amazing 7 rated games out there.
Nice, been waiting for this
First, companies need to stop setting unrealistic sales goals for their games; it's ridiculous. They should also consider making simpler AA games to fill the gaps between AAA releases. However, they must avoid artificially dragging out development times. Most importantly, once companies move away from forced agendas and 'woke' content, the industry will improve. Fortunately, many of these types of games are already failing or at least selling poorly. No outside divisions should al...
I am glad they are still making games like this, but sadly I doubt it will be release anywhere outside of Japan.
Sony will do a big show later this year, probably in August.
Nvm
I don't understand the gamble, they clam traditional games cost to much but I would assume making a Gass game cost just as much if not more. The problem is if a Gass game fails it usually fails hard and is then shut down or just doesn't bring in enough to cover cost. while a traditional game usually will at least break even over time and if it's not a crap game will bring in more. I would think a traditional game (especially from a company that has made great games in the past) wo...
I agree, I liked Max, Chloe was a horrible friend and a bad influence.
Pixel art games still going strong 30+ years later when they have no reason to still exists and they think in a measly 10 years that's going to stop. Not a very smart comment.
Now I want this, great idea
I can see what you mean. What I am getting at is just because they did a tech demo with Aloy using AI to voice doesn't meam that this particular tech will ever actually be used. Although I personally think it will, if we can get voices to sound more natural and real. Unless it's stopped by voice actors.
