This was a very good videogames showcase. However, it wasn't a very good PlayStation showcase. Way too much focus on indies and 3rd party multiplatform games. I get it that you have to have that stuff in there too. But after nearly 2 years of going without a showcase, I would've expected a larger 1st party presence. And the problem is even with some of the 1st party stuff they DID show, they were just pointless cinematic trailers that told us absolutely nothing about those games....
It wasn't their worst (anyone remember Wonder Book?) but it was definitely a letdown. After nearly 2 years without a showcase, I expected a MUCH bigger 1st party presence. It was a decent videogame showcase but it was not a strong PS5 showcase. Other than Spider-Man 2, they showed absolutely nothing else to get people excited for PS5 specifically. Most of these games will also be available on Xbox.
Look the show wasnt great, I agree but this statement simply is not true. How can you say we didnt get to know ANYTHING more about the 1st party lineup when they revealed....

Sony is under no obligation to PC gamers. Unlike those who bought the PS5, PC gamers did not invest in Sony's platform and have not entered into any kind of financial agreement with Sony for them to bring their games day and date to PC. Therefore, they are in no position to demand anything from Sony other than the games that Sony do release on PC are done so unbroken. They'll get the games when they get the games. If they want them sooner, they should purchase a PS5.

Meh Im good, thanks. The last few quirky weird games Sony produced werw flops. Id rather Sony focus on AAA games and leave the artsy fartsy stuff to 3rd party/indie developers. Sony is in the business of making high quality, high production value blockbusters designed to reach the greatest number of people. They're not curators of an art museum. Plenty of 3rd party/indie teams out there making those sorts of experiences.

Exactly! You knew it was coming. Any time a game is almost universally hated, here comes "Johnny Insight" with the contrarian viewpoint. The game is bad. Move on.
I mean, Ive enjoyed them. So I cant sit here and say there's too many. For the most part they've all been very good remakes. As long they remain of high quality and people are buying and enjoying them, I think its fine. They help fill the gaps between new releases. This year alone Ive beaten The Last of Us Part 1, RE4, Metroid Prime Remaster, and Dead Space and I loved every single one of those games.
@Magoh chronology, yes it is. The events in Snake Eater take place before part 1. It is a prequel.
