Because path tracing for a game with more polygons, details, and effects will result a nearly unplayable state of that game using even an RTX 3090, tanking the performance greatly.
Path tracing is freaking expensive calculation. Nvidia's own Marbles demo ran at 1440p@30 with DLSS 2.0 enabled.
Hence the path tracing experimentation is carried out in less detailed game...
Seems like design wise its mostly done. These are leaked from playtesting I guess.
Looks like an pre-alpha build and needs more polishing. Anyways, they've got plenty time for that.
Raven Software actually operated much like a fan developer to id software. Using id's engines and employing their own fantasy ideas to create a nice roster of games. Wish Bethesda acquired them along with id instead of letting them rot at Activision.
umm ... the list looks fine, but is it too late to omit that TLOU Remake?
TLOU Remaster still holds up and its better that ND dedicates their resources in creating a new IP this gen or at least some new sequel rather than remake a barely old game.
And if you're considering, Bluepoint, then also some PS1 title remake will be more welcoming.
