Sony has announced a Destiny 2 add-on in late February. PSVR 2 and its release titles will release in early February and MLB The Show 23 will release in March or April. That's a huge amount of content and new hardware in the first 4 months of 2023 then later this year they'll release Spider-Man 2. I not sure what your looking for but there's not another Publisher out there that's releasing the amount of hardware and content than Sony in the first 4 months of 202...
Me thinks No Man Sky will have a lifetime of gameplay well worth $60. These games with 6, 8, 10 hr play time should be sold at a lower price, lower than $40 IMO. I thinks this price point for Microsoft is a lesson learned from Quantum Break the last single player, short play through game they released that did not sell so well for them that had the $60 price point. $40 for Recore is a good move. On the other hand No Man's Sky will hold its own at the $60 price or whatever price they sell...

The Conference flow as always with Microsoft was tight! But the msg's was not. Games we already know about and a what's the point console in the Xbox S and a Console that's at least a year and a half away? No new IP unless you count the unreleased IP's we seen at last years E3. Just my opinion but Microsoft needs get some better story tellers to make games for their platform. Halo, Gears, Forza every year? Dead Rising again?
I agree it was completely underwhelming.
I agree with the article title. To me so many Xbox One/ win10 games look cartoonish, games that looks like Nintindo games and Sea of Thieves fits into that mold to a T. But that's my opinion.

I don't get the big issue here with the 6mos out pre-order numbers. Sure Black Ops 3 pre-ordered well using the all important VGChartz numbers. But if we look at the same 6mos out time frame for CoD AW using the same VGChartz pre-order numbers it shows pre-orders for 30k plus on both X1 and PS4 which is the same numbers CoD IW is showing now in the same time frame "6mos out" on both consoles and CoD AW went on to be one of the best selling games in 2014 if not the biggest sellin...
Funny that you bring up BattleField 1 and TitanFall 2. When looking at the same VGChartz report that produced the "Extreamly LoW" CoD IW numbers, neither B1 or TF2 made the same pre-order chart meaning they have pre-sold less than the Call of Duty IW game if any at all. I hope they don't think that TitanFall 2 or BattleField 1 will outsell Call of Duty this year. They can't combine the 2 totals and sell more than CoD. I'm not hating on TF or B1 as I'll get B1 for sure maybe not TF as I didn't care for the first TF but we'll see.
And yet even with that low price and all those games so few purchase the X1 console......that's not likely to change even if they keep going lower with the price.

I highly doubt Sony will hype this game in any way. As I recall Microsft is the Publisher and the Game Developer made their bed when they made that choice, but I'm sure they were well paid so If the Devolper or Publisher don't hype it for the Sony system they it may come and go with little fan fair. IMO and I'd be guessing that's what Microsoft wants even though the game didn't sell on the X1, 360, PC as well as hoped but if it sells poorly on the PS4 then Microsoft can...
I still have no clue why anyone cares in the least about what someone thinks no matter if it's positive or negative when they are being paid to think It. For the love of gaming form your on opinion as their are just to many options to get a look at a game before you purchase it. Twitch, YouTube, Ustream, rent the game, borrow the game. Medacritic and other review sites offer nothing to gaming.......IMO!
Let's face it the Xbox One is a far better Xbox 360 console than a next gen console it was trying to be. When you have a console maker and all the only thing they have to talk about is their previous console games that they are releasing on the new Next Gen console then they have a real problem at that's exactly what's going on at Microsoft. The "paid for PR" for this game is getting outta hand. It looks like a great game at this point but IMO so does the new Call of Duty. When I see hype like the new Battlefield game is getting I can't help think of that other over hyped game that BTW was also a EA title. That game was Titanfall and as I recall they ended up pretty much giving it away. I am a Battlefield fan but I'll hold judgement until I get it in Oct.

No offense to QB and Its maker Remedy as I'm sure I'd enjoy this game if I played it. With that said clearly Microsoft has taken an old saying to heart and made it their Xbox One policy. That saying
"To avoid disappointment lower your expectations"! Maybe Microsoft needs to expand their other policy of paying for great reviews to avoid lower review scores as all media sites have a price.
