I was tempted by Mantle and was ready to switch over to the red camp, but G-Sync brought me back to the green team.
How about G-Sync with NVAPI instead?
I'm getting the next G-Sync-enabled monitor next year. Better still, get an add-on module on the market so that it can be added to any monitor & HDTV.
OR
I'm getting the G-Sync-enabled Oculus Rift next year.
Finally, visuals smooth as silk!
"Any card you buy of those will be good enough for 60+fps @ 1080p in the latest games though."
Not true!

Even a GTX 690 can't do that. Hopefully Maxwell can.
While I don't know about the price, fact is the 290X doesn't offer any more performance than current top Nvidia GPUs i.e. no point upgrading.
I'll wait for Maxwell, in order to get the next big leap in performance. Hope to max every game at 1440p with 144fps on the next big Maxwell GPU.
Killzone was initially 290GB before being optimized for 40GB.
I'll wait for new 2TB 2.5 inches drives before upgrading.
G-Sync should work really well with 4K.
This is getting MANTLE ! :)
Hurry up, Bioware!
Plasma is the best for gaming!
I watched an action clip on a plasma TV & a 2-sec.-response-time LED TV, and the motion was much smoother on the plasma.
Rushing?
More like I've already rushed past current gen consoles, because I'm already gaming on a high-end PC - the equivalent of a next-gen console.
I was already so sick of this gen's console that I jumped ship to PC gaming about 2 years back. Cheaper games and better graphics.
IMO, consoles should be refreshed every 3-5 years. Certainly not until smartphones are becoming more powerful than them. Dinosaurs!
Curved monitors?
True if money is in abundance.
Exactly.
Great for movies & games.
Try driving on a 21:9 vs 16:9 screen and feel the difference!
21:9 is great for work. I like displaying multiple documents/browsers on the same screen.
AOC is the cheapest. I'm buying that.
Same here. Quantum Break is THE game for me on the XB1.
+1
I love Heavy Rain. Its tense & I do feel for the characters.
Gaming is not just about action, you know?
That's why Single-Player games will not die out, just because lots of people play Multiplayers.
Short campaign?
I'll pass.
