This guy gets it.

"switches sales are inflated by the handheld switch lite"
Are PS4 sales inflated by the PS4 Pro?
Are Xbox One sales inflated by the X?
Your comment is reaching.
@CaptainObvious878
"Well it's already outdated now, but when the ps5 gets here it's not even going to be funny"
Outdated, underpowered hardware didn't stop the 3DS being the second best selling console of all time at 154 million units sold, nor did it stop the 3DS pushing 75 million units.
Switch has currently moved 37 million units worldwide despite it being based on 'an outdated' Tegra X1 chipset.
100% Agree Gangsta,
Dead Cells is an absolutely fantastic game that has given me many hours of enjoyment :)
@bluefox755
"not sure why this is even a story"
Well the site is called News 4 Gamers and for once this IS factual news backed up with real world data as opposed to the usual clickbait opinion piece asking questions like "Will Xbox ever be as good as PS4", clearly designed to incite activity in the comments section and generate revenue through angry clicks.
140.15
Do you remember that number Nyxus?
Metal Gear Solid was the first game I ever played that broke the fourth wall, way back in '98.
I don't think it's been done better since.
Great news!
The musical score from the original Metal Gear Solid is incredible.
@TheaRealTedCruz
"This is being published outside of MS studios under an outside contract made prior to their acquisition. Any money made is going to the publisher, and directly to Obsidian"
So in your own words, profits from the game are going to Obsidian who are now part of Xbox Game Studios.
That money will inevitably be reinvested into the development of future titles for the Xbox platform.
Not sure what...
@Master
"Game is mentioned to release on Xbox One and PC also, what about those versions? I don't think the Xbox One version is going to be any better, so why single out the PS4 version?"
Because it's a PlayStation focused website focusing on the PlayStation version of the game, I expect the Xbox and PC versions of the game will look equally poor.
It's the second one this week.
The new Yooka Laylee game is also running at 1080p on Pro whilst the X got a dynamic 4K mode that according to Digital Foundry hits the target most of the time.

"Probably not the higher % of ps4 owns are from japan and this type of games is not much in there interest"
No.
PS4 sales in Japan 8.07 Million units.
PS4 sales worldwide 100 Million units.
Japanese PS4 sales 8.07%
@masterfox
"in the end is going to sell more on the PS4 for obvious reasons, oh well"
Obsidian is part of Xbox Game Studios so the money from all those sales is going to Xbox, Oh well.
@rainslacker
"The author set the metric for success to state sales, yet his conclusion was that one failed, while the other didn't, even though Sony technically did sell more"
No. I can tell from your very first line which side of the console fence you sit on, the author actually said this..
"Console war nonsense was perhaps the most pronounced around the end of the last generation and the beginning of our current gen...
@IRetrouk
"It was a question I posed to you that you didnt answer, Yes I do consider selling 87 million units a success"
Please can you quote a post or comment I made where I've directly stated PS3 was not a succsess.
Gamingunited said "maybe" if you were comparing it to PS2 it was sort of a failure" and CornHolio said that the both the Xbox One and PS3 were failures but I'm quite sure that I've only...
@MasterCornholio
"Both the Xbox One and PS3 were failures due to this. Plus if I'm not mistaken Sony actually took a financial hit with the PS3"
100% agree with you,
PlayStation has made good with the PS4 this generation and looks to continue the trend next gen with PS5.
In addition Xbox, after a very rocky 8th generation is (finally) moving in the right direction.
@IRetrouk
"What does any of that have to do with the fact that the ps3 still ended up the 5th best selling console?"
Nothing, You brought up that point in your first post.
"How is it a failure?"
In the words of (Former) Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden ...

@milohighclub
"I wonder what percentage sony would have if they added their games day one and then gave the service away? 🤔"
Unfortunately they didn't.
Instead they priced themselves out of the market and offered an over priced, under specced streaming solution based on outdated Gaikai tech.
Now they've been forced to drop the price of PS Now, revamp the service to include download games and...
@milohighclub
"The service is unsustainable. It's okay saying as a consumer I'd rather have a massive library of games for dirt cheap but theres gonna come a time when the games stop coming because they arent even making 10% of what it cost to make"
Appreciate the concern but I'm sure GP users would rather put their faith in a business model developed by a Trillion $ company as opposed to the advice of an armchair analyst on N4G.
@Gamingunited
"if you were comparing it to PS2 it was sort of a failure"
That is exactly what i did in my reply to you, I gave you acuurate metrics taken from sales data released through Sony and MS themselves and gave an example of how that information could be interpreted as success for 360 and failure for PS3 in the seventh generation.
I also linked you to an article in which the (then) chairman of SIE worldwide studios Sha...
@Kurisu
As a big Kojima fan, IMHO much of the beauty of his work lies in the story telling and his ability to think outside the box (In MGS 1 you had to literally look on the outside of the box / CD case to find a frequency for a radio in order to progress the story) with clever ideas many of which break the fourth wall.
Examples of this include a character reading your game saves as a way to telepathically 'read your mind' then telling you to pla...
