I first bought a 60GB PS3 in 2007, then bought a PS3 SLIM in 2009 (to play online with my bro & mates).
60GB PS3 gets YLOD in early 2010, just before GOW3's release. Fixed 60GB PS3 with the method in this article, 60GB PS3 lived another 2 months, but then got YLOD again..
Just bought my second PS3 SLIM after this... lol.
It is possible to fix the 60GB PS3 again, but I doubt it'll be permanent.. Best thing to do is to buy a PS3 Slim. Hopefully tha...

As soon as i booted the ps3 and logged in to PSN (worked after bug), everything seemed OK, but then i changed the DATE settings of the ps3, set to internet settings, after that i played heavy rain for half an hour and suddenly the ps3 shutdown, and when i rebooted, YLOD (Yellow light of death) appeared!
