Maybe look at how the landscape of the gaming market has changed. Indies may not have seemed like such a prominent force in anyone's gaming appetite back then, well Xbox 360 owners may have done like you say. Fact of the matter is throughout last gen you saw the demise of the mid-tier(AA) developer which usually bridged the gap between indies and AAA. Both in price and quality.

I'd link wikipedia, which out right states the number of games on each system, but I'm only going to get replies like 'Sony has paid off Wikipedia' or some hot nonsense.
Well it's actually a fact PS4 has more games right now. More going forward too even. It's up the gamer to overly the fanboy semantics on what games they count. People even discount games purely on the fact that they don't like them which can be used on both sides so it gets ridiculous and highly subjective.
But as it stands, factually right now, PS4 has the most games.
