I don't see the reason to lie to us. It only gonna ruin their reputation. Something maybe happened to the dev team, who knows. That delay of release looks so suspicious now. What have they done during that time window? (sure not polish the game.)

Exactly. Especially with intensive global illumination and caustics, not mentioning the expensive ray tracing rendering plus countless post production and processing.
It will take us maybe another 30-40 years to get there. Unless, we discover something that is as groundbreaking as microchips/computer,which I doubt would happen any time soon.
