From a technical perspective, it will sure be a masterpiece, setting bars high for other developers for many years to come. From a story perspective, I personally think they went to a counter mainstream way. It will simply upset a lot of people. The majority of people is mainstream, therefore, the reputation of the series will be hurt big time. ND is a bit too proud and overestimated themselves this time. If this is all true, I hardly doubt there will be a Part III.
Naughty Dog predicted the pandemic. Now, the COVID has struck the world much like the fungus in the game. People staying at home should play the game already. Man, this is gonna boost the sale even further, if it finally came out.

But E3 demo GAMEPLAY graphics looked kissass too, unlike the recent demo. I am not talking about Cutscenes. I never talked about cutscenes. I only compared the E3 gameplay with this month's demo. I understand it's different time of day, but the shader and texture look a bit off. I don't know, maybe it's the compression.
Somehow I think this year's demo looks slightly downgraded. Not a lot, but slightly. E3 demo was so freakin' real. This time it looks more like PS3ish ND graphics. Anyone noticed the same?
I don't think Ellie or Joel will die. The series will have a part 3 with PS5. I think some other character will die. If Ellie dies, her immunity won't save humanity, it's a shame. Joel dies, that's gonna upset almost all of the fans. So I don't think so. The characters are too successfully established. They can't afford to lose any.

People need to make a distinction between “Fake", "Pre-rendered", "Scripted" and "Choreographed". Last of Us 2 obviously belongs to the last one.
I doubt Until Dawn and the Order 1886 will get a sequel. Especially, the Order 1886. It's a good game with great graphics. But the gameplay wasn't that interesting and dull. I'm afraid the studio didn't get enough revenue to produce the next one.
