I feel like almost every single genre is getting boring. This whole instant gratification thing is ruining gaming.

But that is only obvious, and it sucks. I had some immersion problems with Dark Souls, but not so much with Demon's Souls.
I am going to get it day one on PS3 due to friends but I will eventually pick it up on PC cause it will definitely go on sale a few times for like 20 bucks.
A Dark Souls 2 announcement for PS4 might be enough for me to get a PS4 around launch. Demon's Souls 2 as a PS4 exclusive and I get a PS4 day one or whenever DeS2 was to come out. That would be too sweet.
Won't come close to the PS2, but I see what you are getting at. Times have changed too much for a statement like that.
Going to take something really special to get me to day one the PS4. I'll end up getting a PS4 sometime in the beginning of 2015.

Horrible example as that game should be played on PC.
It's going to take one hell of a game to get me to want the PS4 at this current point in time. Not looking forward to more Killzones or Uncharteds, or really any exclusive that is continuing on from PS3. UNLESS.. it is an exclusive Souls game or Monster Hunter finally coming back home, where it belongs.
