I dont see this saving Vita since you dont need a Vita to experience it.
I dont get it. Sony is doing its best to break into the mobile gaming market while hurting its own portable in the process.
If MS or Nintendo were releasing their games on a mobile platform and hurting their own products the amount of outrage would be immense to say the least.

Amazing looking game. Probably fry current consoles or limit them to 5 frames per second. If I can buy this and not do it through Steam I'll be buying for sure.

We are well past Vita launch and you are still making excuses for its poor sales yet here you are all over Nintendo and it hasnt even been released yet.
FYI Wii launched on Nov 19th and was handled the exact same way.

Fact is Sony is no position to launch a new console any time soon. PS3 ate up every bit of profit they made on PS2 and Vita is bombing at retail they need to just sit back and live off of the PS3 for a few more years.

Sony doesnt do price cuts on their portables that often.
What they WILL most likely do is add value to the package and keep it at the same price but you will get so much more for your money. I remember they did the same thing with PSP. It rarely got a price drop but they were always increasing the value of the PSP bundle with added games/memory cards , etc. Honestly it worked great for PSP and I dont see why they should change it now.
I'll have to remember this when its PS devs talking about how great a PS product is. They are only doing it to boost sales not because its actually a quality product they have experience with.
