papashango, so no background in computing eh? figures lol.

edit*: "god" lol. you're so delusional, man. i feel sorry. there is no good, there is no bad. no divine, no evil. there are people who love technology, and people who love money. can you seriously equate Cerny with the latter? when the dude was underpayed during the entire development of sonic? just stop.

edit*: he's so insignificant that he was the lead architect on the ps4, right?...

You're gonna get disagrees because few people on n4g have any real background in computing or even a slight understanding of how computer parts work.

Sonyclearlistens says not to believe everything you read on the internet, yet that's what a large percentage of gamers do. They read, believe, spread rumors, then cry and get disappointed when the rumors aren't lived up to.

If more people took the time to educaate themselves about the technology they...

Actually, it's not. I love when people make the claim that it's not true with no information to back it up. No data, no statistics, nothing. Mark Cerny, who has over 30 years experience, laid out why the PS4's architecture is undoubtedly better than any high-end PC that's currently available.

Do you have anywhere close to 30 years experience in computing? I doubt it!

i love when people use this cop out.

lol. this guy does this frequently. he's not a hacker, he's just a kid trolling out of boredom. he's done this at least 4 other times.

it's not solely about the parts. it's about how the parts function in relation to each other, how they interact with each other, how they interact with the OS. how many years of computer science experience do most gamers have? none. most people who buy high-end PCs have no idea how they even work lol. no clue how a CPU functions, no idea what a PCIe BUS is or what they're used for. yet they love to call bs on things they don't understand in the slightest. of course sony and ms...

do you know anything about how game consoles function? or even what a computer is? you're equating computer with PC... PCs didn't create x86, man. x86 created PCs (figuratively speaking). a PC cannot claim an architecture anymore than a console can. do you even know the history of computers? lol. i suggest you read some books, man. at the very least watch triumph of the nerds.

4688d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

that's not even close to accurate, man. lol. i love when people use completely arbitrary percentages to seem like they know something.

they did learn. they learned to keep good ideas and features in their overall design philosophies, unlike microsoft.

^Definitely. A while could be 3 years max. The thing is, in my opinion, next-gen consoles won't be that powerful at launch in comparison to PCs, it will take a couple years. So if, by that time, the bottlenecks are drastically lowered, then PCs will reign. It will take a couple years for developers to realize just how much optimization they can achieve with next-gen console's architectures.

I'm a PC gamer, but also a tech enthusiast, so I'll be looking forward...

lol. by both he means xbox one, but can't admit it.

The PS4's GPU alone is 50% more powerful than X1's. That's a pretty huge amount.

Moot point about it not being an article. Can you argue that it does a poor job of relaying information? They simply wrote a post with barely 3 (broken) paragraphs that contained 2 quotes of what was said in Taneja's blog post.

They did a poor job of displaying the blog post in the light it was written in, and because of it, people replying to the "news post" are replying to what they wrote, instead of what was written in the blog post.

I was ...

This "article" (if you can even call it that) does a poor job of relaying what was actually said. I suggest you read the full blog post, which they linked, on LinkedIn. He is simply saying the architecture and hardware design of next-gen consoles is better than even the highest-end PCs. That's true.

oh okay. 3 minutes of gameplay for their precious exclusives. and how long for a multiplat game?! they use a multiplat game as their CLOSER? only xbots would praise that reveal.
