I beg to differ. After watching 720p or 1080i videos on my 50" HDTV, the regular dvds and TV channels look bland and blurry. Unless there is a way that HD content can fit into a dvd and can be played on regular dvd players there is no way HD players will sink like laser disc. What (imho) caused the downfall of the laserdisc was that when it was introduced in the early 90s, big screen TVs (forget HD) were not avaialable at that time to truly take advantage of the high PQ being offered by ...

Wow..Nice, but strangely my 1 1/2 year old self assemebled, Core duo 2 E6600 2.4 @ 3.4 ghz and 7950GPU can make BF2142 run at 1440x900 rez with all settings at max and 4x AA and still run at 80-100fps. The quality of which is not possible on either 360 or ps3.
