Amazon got new ps4 stock in today and it shot up right to the top of the best seller charts. Meanwhile the xbox one has been in stock since before Christmas and is languishing in the 20s or lower spots. And it's not just amazon, last week when best buy had new ps4 stock, it shot up to #1 while xbox was down around 4th or 5th spot.
Now I'm not trying to make it sound like I hate the xbox one, I'm actually getting it very soon cause it has a lot of games I can't g...
I think he's talking about the new gears of war that's 2 to 3 years away. Unless he means that last gen call of duty with mechs that only supports 6-6, 720p and 30 fps.
Meanwhile in ps4 we've got outlast, tomb raider de, final fantasy 14, infamous, driveclub, mgs gz, thief, rayman legends, all out now or very soon. With a games lineup like that so early into a new consoles life, no wonder it's selling like hotcakes.
Sadly, from strictly a sales perspective in reference to it's competion, it'll be remembered as the dreamcast of this generation. A great console that went largely unnoticed.
What about xbox 360 to xbox one?
Sure it's not. Keep telling yourself that Microsoft.
PS4 is amazing. Can't wait for future games. Going to be an amazing gen.
Strange person you are.
Ps4 should sell close to ps2 numbers.
Xbone will probably sell more closely to 80mil if that.
Wiiu around 12 to 15 mil.
Looks like a pretty accurate estimate. As good as Sony is doing lately, they might sale as many as 14 mil in addition to their current 5 mil for a total of 19 mil sold by Dec 31st.
And for anyone doubting this, ps2 was selling these kinda numbers during it's run.
And right now, it's looking very much like it'll surpass ps2's enormous sales.
Lets get ready to ruuuuuuuummmmbbblleeeeeee!!!!! !!!!!

I'm not trying to discredit the n64. I loved it a lot. But most of the third party games it had weren't all that great plus sport games are a given. But I agree about Turok and the wrestling games. And the star wars games were also great as was beetle adventure racing. But really big third party games it lacked. As a multiplayer console tho, it was incredible.
And slightly off topic, I recently acquired a light clear blue funtastic n64 console with star fox 64 and rumbl...
I would actually prefer Samsung enter the console market if anybody did. Their devices are amazing. But not an android console, something like an actual console similar to a PlayStation or xbox.
As for amazon's console, that'll be another ouya. Forgotten as quickly as it arrived.
This is crazy. Even GameCube had better third party support than this. Looks like it's going to be anther n64 era where most of the games are Nintendo made and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I would gladly take a next gen Mario tennis, Mario party, or even wave race or pilotwings.
@George Didn't Microsoft also say a million times that the console couldnt run without Kinect and being connected to the internet once every 24hrs?
What makes you think they won't backtrack again? It's only been what, 4, 5 times already since their may 2013 reveal?
They either sell a kinectless version or lower the price much earlier than expected to compete with ps4. Simple as that. And it'll probably happen sooner rather than later.
After the Japanese launch next week, i'd guess somewhere around 6.2 mil worldwide. After all, it's been a month and a half since the last official ps4 sales numbers were released. Plus with more stock finally hitting the US, that number could be even higher by the end of the month.
I actually felt that same way last year but not anymore. Now ps4 has got outlast, tomb raider de, rayman legends, mgs gz, infamous, thief, mlb the show 14, driveclub, final fantasy 14, all out now or within the next few weeks. Not to mention I'm still having a blast with ac4, need for speed. And who knows what the rest of the year holds.
Whereas the wiiu has been out over a year now and ps4 already has more games out or coming out in it's first six months than in all...
Holy crap they're giving them away already lol no one wants a xbone all the cool ppl are picking ps4 this gen and the sales prove it. Microsoft and nintendo will be fighting over who drops to third place.
@ambientflier it is when you add in an xbl sub, extra controller, play and charge kit etc.
With ps4, you pay $400 plus tax, that's $440. Pay an extra $10 for a month of ps plus and you get like 4 free games to play. So that's roughly $300 I'm saving by buying a ps4 for now.
Other than halo, xbox gamers aren't into the games you mentioned. At least not to the extent of halo sales. The most talked about xbox one launch game, ryse, didn't even sell 1mil copies.
