As a PS3 owner who has never been big on Halo I am thinking this game will most likely be a great game for Halo fans in general.... its not going to convert the very few xbox 360 who aren't into Halo but I am sure the game will be great for what it is supposed to be and plus its Bungie who did it. Its funny how microsoft keeps talking digital distribution but they have not released ANY FULL retail game (arcade compilation does not count) on xbox live but Sony have and are planning to do more. Actions speak louder than words if you ask me.

I don't think Sony's PS3 is doing "bad" but its all relative to its previous achievements (e.g. PS1 & PS2 sales) which ultimately will define what makes their current console a success. Sony really dug itself into a VERY deep whole due to 3 things.... 1) Unfamiliar programming for its games by game developers, 2) Blu-Ray included in its console driving up the price and to a minor extent 3) Releasing 1 year after the Xbox 360.

As much as it pains me to state it.... Sony is in a rut no matter what it does at this point. 3rd party games are selling better than its exclusives and the 360 is cheaper so why would average joe (or jane) honestly go for the more expensive console (although in the long run the PS3 is actually cheaper) if they are more likely to purchase multiplatform games....

I think that the reason why Far Cry 2 and Resident Evil 5 had different responses is pretty straightforward. Far Cry 2 is simply about corruption, politics and violence in an African setting. This is just sad.... i suggest a global boycott of this movie by all who even heard the word dragonball. What is scarier about this movie is that if it manages somehow to be anything close to successful they may revive the series but remake it based on the characters in the movie. I expect to see the next-gen consoles between late 2010 or mid-2011. I strongly doubt they will launch for less than 299$ but if the economy keeps on going downhill maybe it will.

There are a million ways to view the situation of each console. However, its obvious right now the xbox 360 is at its sweet spot in terms of games, online and price. The ps3 is great but lets get real... 199$ versus 399$.... to the average uneducated consumer Xbox 360 seems like the better deal although it has the most hidden costs making it really the most expensive.... i think for now microsoft will end getting more the mainstream crowd than sony because of price although the ps3 should be ...
