It has two very distinct and opposite styles within it's gameplay, making it 2 games in one.

Bioshock is all I've been playing for the last 2 days (didn't get any sleep last night 'cause of it) and when I'm playing lots of words come to mind to describe this masterpiece in action, "flopped" has NEVER been one of them.

Oddly enough, I was originally very pissed with the exclusion of rumble in PS3. I felt it was a huge mistake and a step backward in game immersion.
Even during my first month of gaming on PS3 I was bitter and finding myself lamenting the lack of FF.
No longer.
When considering which version of a multiplatform game to purchase many factors come into play. FF is usually at the bottom of the list and might/might not be the deciding factor if all else is equal.

On topic, from what I read it seems Capcom is keeping the old formula from RE4 and simply ramping it up a notch (which is definitely a good thing!)

Don't matter much to me, I already have my Bioshock for 360 and would have chosen this version anyhow (360 controller is best for shooters and it has achievements).
But, how many people are buying the game NOW who might have chosen a PS3 version if given the chance?

both games are (at this time) the pinnacle of their respective genres.
Neither have jump actions but, when playing I don't even notice and certainly don't miss it.
