You realize the freaking PS Vita has a better CPU than the freaking iPad 4 and iPhone, it's GPU is actually more powerful than the iPhone 5's though but about the same as the newer iPad 4..
PS Vita processor is actually faster than both, it is a an A9 quad core that maxes at 2 Ghz. The iPhone 5 and iPad 4 are still running A6 dual cores, the iPhone 5 only maxes at 1.3 GHz and the iPad 4 at 1.4 Ghz.

They are just doing something no other console company has really and that is focus on a larger range of games from more developers than just a few.
I would say out of all the three, Sony has always pushed to provided more genres of games to choose from. That is what I love about Sony they like variety, they don't just focus on exclusives or kinect which seems to actually be hurting these other consoles.

Shenmue cost $47 million at the time to make, now that is around $70 million today. The budget for both Shenmue 1 and 2 was $70 million altogether which today is close to $100 million.
They never spent anywhere near $300 million on one Shenmue.
