The Witcher 3's world is lush and the side quests, stories and characters have a depth to them. And because it is open world it is bound to have large open areas, otherwise it would be unrealistic.

Yes, but they changed the core o the gameplay, it looks slow and more focused on one on one encounters. GOW means fast paced over the top action and brutality. That for me is the core of the series which should be there. I'll reserve judgement until the game's release.
Can't argue with it being on Game Pass is very attractive and can result in a lot more people playing it.
