All I was saying is that IGN is making an example of generic shooters with Haze, as it's been heavily publicized and they're obviously tired of the run of the mill shooters that don't deliver on their promise.
Games should definitely be reviewed objectively, but every once in a while it's good to send a message to developers to get their sh*t together so that they'll make better games.

Guys I'm not disputing that MGS4 is going to be incredible, most likely game of the year, and I'd be much happier if it got that over GTA4.

People wonder why there's a battle on Metacritic for highest reviewed game of all time? It's because no name site like this get a spot and offset the balance.
GTA4 is not game of the year, nor is it even close to the greatest game ever made.
Good riddance, this OS has been a burden since release and it's nice to start seeing it fade away. It deserves no respect and XP is the ultimate Windows experience.

You guys really don't understand their stance on Haze. Its obvious so I'll do my best to break it down for you.
Haze is not a 4.5/10. IGN doesn't think Haze is a 4.5 out of 10. BUT, people like IGN and people like me both agree that if you hype a game up, in this day and age, with such stellar shooters on the market as COD4...and it doesn't deliver at all, it needs to be made an example of.
Clearly the message here is "look at the market before you release over...
As much as I hate that statement you're completely right. Most of the platformers these days are half baked. Galaxy proved that there's still alot of life in the genre, hopefully Banjo will further prove that and bring some good developers back into the ring.
Another dying genre is the rail shooter.
