If I can I want to get one right away, the ps4 almost had nothing at launch so i played black flag like crazy. Half the reason that game is so highly rated is the result of that. I have no problem with it being covered in bugs. Though I really hope it launches with Sackboy or Ratchet and Clank. If they guarantee every digital PS4 game I bought is right there waiting for me on PS5 then maybe digital games have any value. The stamina bar, weapon degradation, at least let us fix weapons we like. Lists of craft-able everything. Storytelling. I am saying all this and I spent over 100 hours playing the original. Even then I thought the storytelling was the weakest part and being told through flashbacks in any order your discover them was a huge let down. Lost opportunity to tell an amazing story.
YES! Making the last one a remake of the first game and a movie tie in was a horrible idea. I am so glad they were able to make another game. I was worried that was the last of the series. I have a bunch of friends who got a PS4 this gen. I know they will go back to Xbox in a heartbeat. These are the friends who only really care about call of duty and battlefield or just any online multiplayer game over single player games. Super Paper Mario is by far my favorite. The sticker stuff they came out with after was a terrible way to go. Super has an amazing fun story with humor beyond any other mario game before it. I loved the platforming style WAY more than turn based mechanics that pause the games progress and make it much longer than needed. The sticker idea was the worst thing the series ever did. I bought a 3ds to play it and I wish I had never bought the console.
IMO the consoles have been holding back PC graphics for years. There was a time when they were pretty on par but now what PCs can potential do is completely held back by the creation of games limited to live on next to their console cousins. Games do look amazing still but they are ports of games made for consoles in most cases.
On Android there is a million clones of Mario but they could all fall under parody law if given law suits. This system is no different. They could make almost identical games and get away with it if they would just use that system to their advantage.
IMO nobody should be using mario or sonic when they would just as easily make the main character a skunk named Cinos.
I have played through all the final fantasys, Dragon Quest, and tons of other turn based RPGs. I hated turn based gaming forever. Sadly Action rpgs have always dropped the ball when it comes to epic stories so if I wanted to enjoy a true heart felt moving game I would have to play turn based ones. I am extremely glad we are switching that up. I do still love my a good turn based RPG.

I just hope for action RPG combat. I loved Super Paper Mario. IMO best in the series. I really hope that gets more love as it really is the one I had the most fun in and had a great story. The last mario and luigi games have been lackluster story wise and all the paper sticker games have had the story removed entirely. This takes away soooo much charm the series had and replaces it with empty combat and pointless grinding with no pay off.
Tales keeps making their male protagonists more and more feminine. I mean Tales of xillia was about what I could stand. Still its up to them. I find it to be a bit of a turn off. That and since symphonia and then Vesperia (Abyss was good) Berseria was only okay but its got huge fanfare. They really have been phoning in the stories with a bit to many cliches though.
I sent both my controllers i bought at release in for the free repair. One worked for a day then the drift came back so badly its unusable. The other is starting to show signs again. I have been relying on 3rd party pro style controllers lately and they are superior to the nintendo products which is just not okay.

I found the stories in Final Fantasy to be far superior than dragon quest. 8 and 11 did a decent job but still not on final fantasy's level. Final Fantasy stories can touch you on an emotional level. Dragon Quest stories are just kinda there. 11 Really tried but still the movie Dragon Quest your story proved they can do a much better job than they are in the games.
I really want Odyssey 2, I want it WAY more then a Zelda sequel but every friend I have who owns a switch disagrees. Platformers get so little love anymore. Will always be my favorite genre. A hat in time got amazing DLC, they could just make a games worth of DLC for the first one and I would be happy.
I was really hoping for an announcement from SONY that the ps5 would run every generation backwards compatible. The software emulation is pretty lame. It is good to see that there is at least some BC out there. It really does need to be a standard feature.
TLDR: I am really impressed with the backwards compatibility on PC.
