As long as initial costs aren't ridiculous. Subscriptions are fine as long as the value you get is worth it. The initial outlay needs to be attractive too. Drive Club is rewarding many players these days - so there is a future in that model.
Games as a service? Hmmm...it's an intriguing idea.
Time will tell.
Loved the first Gears of War. Second and third not so much. A remastered GoW 1 gets my vote every time though.
Certain companies can take a leaf out of that :)
