What are you talking about? I own around 250 Blu-ray's and literally 0 of them has a single scratch on it. They are incredibly durable. And you can't download a game as fast as I can install it from the disk.
Big line's and stock problems... I buy all my games using Best Buy Gamers Club and get 20% off and free launch date delivery. I have the game launch day by noon every time.
The speed if your hard drive is irrelevant to the media commen...

You can frame the issue however you want. A sale is a sale and Sony will happily sell you a disk or a bundle and take that money to the bank.
The fact of the matter is whether Sony out marketed or just had a more desirable product they dominated this years Black Friday.
People don't appreciate physical sales the way they should these days. If you look at all the best sales they were on physical media. Stores need to reduce stock and physical actually has to complete with used unlike digital. When digital becomes the only way to get games you can expect average game prices to skyrocket and deals to become non existent as the game publishers will collude to keep prices high.
So well done Nintendo, keep up the good work.

No real surprise. And the incredible thing is that PS4 could have sold far better had it not sold out so fast.
Looks like GT Sport when compared on even footing instead of using a chart that includes 2 extra weeks shows it's sales domination over Forza 7 as expected.

Another interesting thing, is PlayStation VR Worlds broke into the chart at 11 showing how well PSVR did.
Why would anyone bother with this? You can buy a tube of high quality paste for $2 that will have enough paste for 10+ applications.

It wasn't Doom and Skyrim that drove these numbers it was Mario. It wasn't third parties that helped the console have a strong launch it was Zelda. It wasn't the third parties that helped in in between Zelda and Mario it was Splatoon and Mario Kart.
It's nice that the third parties are giving Nintendo support but people buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo exclusive games they can't play anywhere else.

Yea, PS4 is sold out everywhere, it seems that even Sony or retailers didn't realize how much demand there would be. It's a shame because no matter how high the sales end up being they clearly could have been much higher. PS4 at $199 sold out at many retailers that started the deal early before Friday even hit.
Yea, PSVR is sold out all over the place including the bundles. It shows there is still desire for VR they just got to get the price right.
Not if they keep making games for it. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, Smash and all the other big Nintendo hits will keep sales strong. And it doesn't need to be the next Wii to be successful.
Awesome, PC PS4 and Switch players will be getting the latest version of this classic franchise. I can't wait to see who the special characters will be.
I know, they went to court with Activision then ran right into the arms of EA. I can't imagine how someone who has achieved so much in the industry could be so dumb.
Oh well, I predict that EA will have forced him out in a year or two like they do with all high paid founders of the studios they buy. Then after a few years they will steal all the talented staff and close down the studio.
Most of the games people listed above me are games I'm interested in, but I'd like to add Little Witch Academia. That game looks awesome, Dragons Crown combat with a fun story based on the anime, yes please!
Some of my top Japanese games Dragon Quest XI, Little Witch Academia, and Ni No Kuni 2 and Code Vein, Yakuza 6 off the top of my head.
