It's still very likely PS4 will outsell Xbox globally in March 2014. The total gap is still growing wider, just not as quickly this month.
Not a surprise, next gen games already went up from $60 to $70 in Canada. USD to CDN exchange rates are to blame.
PS4 seems undertracked. Stock is still very low or OOS almost everywhere. Either that or Sony is severely falling behind on supply.
At this rate PS4 will sell about 400-500k in March which seems low. If infamous sells a lot of consoles it should be more like 600-700k in March.
Even then it's still outselling Xbox almost 2:1 globally the week before Titanfall launches.
@AGaryColemanClone That 600k pre-order number is a rumor from "insiderp", not Sony. Also insiderp claimed it was 600k worldwide, while vgcharts only tracks US preorders.
Vgcharts and "insiderp" both agree that Titanfall US preorders are about 380k. These are all rumors and estimates so take it all with a big grain of salt.
So 11 days out from Titanfall and PS4 is still outselling Xbox an estimated 2.4:1 globally? Are they even going to make it to 1:1 globally on March 1-11?
I seriously doubt these are the numbers MS was hoping for leading up to Titanfall.
Globally infamous will probably outsell X1 Titanfall. PS4 has nearly twice the global install base and PS4 gamers are eager for more AAA first party games.
Anyone have exact numbers on UK sales? In Europe in general PS4 has been outselling Xbox 5:1 for months.
I highly doubt "tier 2" countries will do much for Xbox One sales. They're smaller markets already dominated by PS3/4, except even worse since PS4 already launched ahead of them.
Based on current European sales, I'd guess launching in those extra European countries would bring in an extra 5-7k a month, maybe. Not even enough to move the needle globally. There are reports that some of those European countries already have stacks of grey market imported Xbox O...

I meant the X1 version of Titanfall (the one you mentioned in your post), not the PC and 360 versions. It wouldn't be fair to match infamous up against all 3 versions. Do you usually go on insulting wild tangents based on forgetting what you initially typed?
Asian attach rates will pick up as gamers finish Knack which was a pack-in. Or they're playing a lot of FF.
In the USA yes, but Europe + Asia purchases of Infamous should push it above Titanfall in global sales. PS4 has been outselling Xbox 5:1 in Europe for months, and asia is pretty much a lost cause.
If by "rocket" you mean a one time 100-200k sales bump in March, sure.
If by "rocket" you mean catching up to PS4 which hit 6 million by the end of Feb 2014, no.
Xbox is currently ~3.5 mil globally, it would take a miracle to catch up at this point. Demand for PS4 is still insane and demand for Xbox has cratered.
Btw PS4 outsold Xbox 8:1 globally in Feb 2014 and 2:1 in NA + Europe.

I don't really care about "good or bad for the industry" or crusades to make gaming respectable. But be honest, games like this are a few pixels away from straight up hentai, are rather degrading to women, and further marginalize Japanese games.
The characters are vapid and cliched waifu bait, and the gameplay is generic button mashing - not particularly redeemable or worth playing despite the fanservice.
