He's not an idiot! He just pointing out that 1080p get a full glorious 1,080 lines of resolution, whereas 1080i only gets 1,080 lines of resolution. I'm sure you can understand the difference!
Since when does MS == Toshiba?
How does that fact that the PS3 will run the game at 1080p help someone with a 1080i television?
TrueHD is an audio format.
I'm guessing Warner is posturing to get some HD-DVD $ love.
The reason this is news is because there has been some speculation that "price point" may be the deciding (or at least a heavyweight) factor in the Format War. In fact, $200 has been touted as a significant milestone (via the history of the rise of the DVD format) regarding the "price point" theory. Therefore, it is news to see HD-DVD getting some $200 love from major retailers.
And... Let's not pretend that Blu-Ray winning or losing the Format War has no ...
NBA 2K8 on the Xbox 360 outsold NBA Live 08 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 2
Since XBox Live has XBox & Xbox 360 players on it, Halo 2 players buying 360's wouldn't show up as an increase in traffic.
Who here really believes that Halo 3 isn't pushing ANY hardware?
I have an ethernet port in my living room! My HD-DVD player and my XBOX 360 share time using it (I plan to add a cheap 4 port switch for full-time hookups for both soon). A buddy of mine at work is buying a new house (in the Dallas area) which comes with home-theater cabling built in; including an Ethernet port!
The times they are a changing!
This format is not likely to affect movie distribution. HD-DVD and Blu-Ray both provide a quality level that pushes current HDTV technology to the pragmatic limit, and movie studios wouldn't be willing to pay out the money necessary to produce "extras" that would fill up a 1TB disk. I also think you'd be hard pressed to find a manufacturer will to gamble the kind of money it would take to develop a 3rd HD video disk standard & player.
"Eggebrecht: Lair in its current form couldn't be done on 360. We are using large amounts of Cell's SPUs for all of our geometry, landscape, simulations, animations, even troop AI. When we create a game, we absolutely focus on the platform it is designed around."
This comment doesn't mean the dev thinks PS3 architecture is better. He's saying Lair is built completely around the PS3 architecture, so it's features are only possible on that architecture.

EA is an every-gen company. They've been doing this for over 20 years. They're one of the most successful video game publishers ever. According to Wikipedia...
"At present, Electronic Arts is the only third-party publisher present in the S&P 500 diversified list of large U.S. corporations."

From watching the video, I got the feeling that unit formation is part of what makes the control scheme work on a console. It seemed like some of the unit groups might be self managed. Hard to say, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't some kind of support for it.
This game probably won't ever come to the PC. The control scheme was built to play on a console only.
RTS games do tend to look complex if you're not experienced with them. If you are, you know exactly what is going on!
It's like with the upcoming Halo game... no way an FPS will ever make it with a console control scheme!!!
How long did you spend working with the controls before you decided they were broken?
Um, Paramount is the largest studio. You're thinking of Universal in the 5th spot.
I will be all over this!!! Championship Lode Runner was one of the hardest puzzles games I've ever played.
