I played it briefly on Vita, it was okay but seemed swamped in some odd design choices. That was ages ago, for all i know they've fixed some of the issues

If i have to pick between two games, I'm going with the one that has 'sold' me on the concept.
'Not being sold means you're not sure if it's a good game' exactly, so given my limited time i'm forced to make a choice between two games.

The player base on both pc and console is pretty welcoming and active, worth heading over to their reddit for tips too ^^
The last one (as a PC player) was pretty strong. Not tried the Maze Engine content yet though. Still cool to see the console version is being fully supported

All critics (well in fact people in general) will have a level of emotion in things. You can't take it out, sure you can apply you review standard to it e.g. I'm not big on driving games but does that mean i'll be harsh on DiRT: Rally? nah, i'll highlight its fault and success in relation to what it is and what it is trying to achieve.
No, because fan sites aren't paid money to write reviews in a professional field. That's a pretty big difference.
I'm kinda hoping for another tactical squad shooter....or maybe i just miss Republic Commando too much
