I will be sad if they release a new handheld next year, I just got my new 3ds a few months ago.
I am predicting they will have tiers in their pricing:
One with PSVR headset alone
One with PSVR + CAMERA + move.
I'm hoping psVR headest alone will cost under 350$.
Regardless if it was a fad or not it was one of the best selling consoles of all time.
Yes the wii u's sales show that people don't like underpowered consoles with a tablet as a controller.
Going back to my original argument, nintendo has a history of making comebacks from shortfalls. ie. Virtual boy, GameCube and 3ds. (3ds because when it launched the numbers where really low)
I still play it to this day.
Exactly what you said the GameCube was in last place and they came back with the wii with the strongest sales ever. That would classify it as a comeback, would you not concur?
My guess would be around the end of June, which is when no mans sky is scheduled to release.

To me it seems like Sony is really giving it all they have got to make PSVR successful. Shuhei was quoted as saying this is planned to have long term 10 year life cycle support.
It's also up to all developers to create unique and interesting experiences in order to make any VR platform flourish.

I have always dreamed of being surrounded by the environment when I'm playing an FPS, I would love it if it also worked as a wearable screen.

If they are able to restore 3rd part relations and grow their fan base even larger. They have some of the most coveted ip's and they need to dig in that war chest to come back strong.
They have proven they can comeback before, look at the GameCube.
It's still one of the best FPS on current gen IMO. I am excited to see what else they can do in battlefield 5.

Sony keeps doing everything right for the ps4 generation. With more platforms coming such as PSVR, the future of gaming is going to be exciting indeed.

Any new console is always exciting to see, we are all gamers here regardless of your platform of choice.
I still believe its going to also launch on the NX with enhanced graphics such as twilight princess that came to both NGC and Wii.
