I like a lot of games, but Naughty Dog has produced more games that I like than any other developer.
Based on that logic...

Every event that is processed and displayed visually is broken up into frames.
The more frames something has, the longer it takes to do it...because more action is being shown.
If it has few frames then it happens quickly.
