Microsoft chose the wrong format when they went with HD DVD, and they underestimated 1080p games at first, but I think they are right on this one. HD finally takes off and now we have to buy 3D televisions and wear expensive glasses? I don't think many of the average consumers are going to do this. Also, what about people with new HD projectors (like myself). I'm not about to replace it. The only 3D gaming that I think will take off is the Nintendo 3DS. That's because it'...
I think this game will score no lower than an 8 out of 10 on metacritic.
There is also another technical issue they didn't mention. It is in the Onlive FAQ but is overlooked. You need a Computer with at least a dual core processor. Most people (including myself) were led to believe that any low end computer would work. This is not the case. The client won't run without a dual core processor.
I think the problem was mainly with the solder & poor cooling on the old boards, and not the xclamps. My Xenon had all kinds of issues, but my Jasper has been rock solid. I don't see why this one would be any less reliable than the Jasper units.
So I have a question about this. I thought I heard him say that this would also include Qore. If that is the case will current Qore subscribers get a PSN+ discount? Seems stupid to pay for Qore twice.
If you are that ungrateful then give it to me. Otherwise just shut up and enjoy it already.
I'm not going to jump on the 3D bandwagon. The extra money and then having to wear glasses is not worth it to me. In fact it upsets me a bit that it is now the cause of games getting delayed or taking longer to develop since they are now trying to add this.
That is a different scenario. The assumption is that the new 360 will be more reliable and quieter than the ones on the market today. If you have the original 60GB PS3 you would actually lose options if you traded it in like PS2 backward compatibility. I'm not bashing the 360 at all.
I'm not sure I'm sold yet on Kinect yet either, but why not wait until the show has been made public before commenting on it? Let the public judge it and form their own opinions.
The game is awesome and deserves to be played by all. If scoring it a 100 makes that happen then so be it. You should really use your own judgment on games anyways, and not look at scores since they are subjective. Take GTA IV for example, I think that was one of the most over rated games of all time.
Wow, can't wait, should be awesome.

It looks like the big franchises are Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Quake, Tony Hawk, and of course they have Blizzard which is responsible for WOW.
I played the PS3 beta, and the 360 demo and loved them both. I ended up pre-ordering the 360 version although I'm still not sure if there is going to be any difference between each version.
Your link didn't work.
For the amount of time they have been working on this game it better be good. I bought a launch day 360 that had a picture of Alan Wake on the box, so they have had plenty of time to work on it. I have to say though that from what I've seen, I've been more impressed with Heavy Rain.
As long as the game is good, I don't care what the box looks like.
It wouldn't surprise me if MS had poor 360 sales this holiday season at all. Unless you need to play an exclusive 360 title, the PS3 is by far the better deal right now, especially if you need wireless networking. I ended up buying another PS3 for another room on Black Friday. Best Buy was selling the PS3 with the new Ratchet & Clank along with the game of the year edition of Little Big Planet for $299. Not a bad deal at all. Also, I'm not biased towards any system and own all 3. I'...
That could end up hurting Microsoft. You have to be a Gold Member to use Netflix, and with the PS3 you get PSN free. I wonder if MS will let that exclusive deal expire.
If you pre-order Uncharted 2 from Amazon they email you an instant $5 gift card. Join the ECA which is free now if you use the code GIMAG and then you get 10% off games from Amazon. Combine that with Amazon Prime status and you get free release date delivery. Demon's Souls now arrives at your door for the final cost of around $46.
Out of the approximate 1000 TVs that best buy sells now, only 23 are 3D. They are also very expensive. I'm not saying PS3 isn't the better console in terms of hardware, etc. I just think 3D gaming right now will not catch on (aside from the Nintendo 3DS)
