I completely forgot about Resistance 3,the first two were brilliant.
Can't see It at E3,Insomniac seems to rotate Ratchet and Clank with Resistance,and RnC apparently not finished yet.
Then I played it at a friends and it completely wowed me.
I just got that feeling again watching this video.

But so should any ground-breaking game worth its salt be.
The thing is,the unimaginable hype and love for games like this is built because mass amount of people love the game.
If a blockbuster sequel for games like MGS or Halo isn't overrated then it hasn't captured the heart and minds of its audience,and has steered from the path that made it famous.
People talking fondly of these games for a reason,they become exaggerated by the people who love the game passing on the sto...
But then that asks the question,When does that strategy no longer work and is no longer profitable?
Like you said,it balances production costs for the PS3,generally gets there foot in the door and gives them a base to work from.
Remember that the PS3 is a more powerful PS2 with more bells and whistles,a customer that is impressed by the Playstation 2 is more likely to move onto its successor.
Double the price tag.
Competitors home turf.
Recession.
And only a fraction behind?
A bead of sweat has just formed on every single Xbox 360 owners forehead who likes to argue sales.
Edit : I guess you could also argue that it's tax season,and everyone tightend there belt,meaning sales of people who WOULD have brought a 360 didn't happen.
Plus being a bad month for sales in general doesn't help,

But from what I've seen and read about it,it definetly seems deserving of the hype Mass Effect 2 is generating.
